So decided to upgrade the server again. Some of you may remember me saying that I didn't get a good enough server, the CPU was just to low. The new server is about $60 more a month (at around $160) so it should be enough, if not, I'll find an alternate way to approach the slow problem.

I ordered the server now, it'll take up to 24 hours for godaddy to set it up and at that time, I'll have to work on transfering everything over and pointing the domain names to the new location. I expect a down time of 1-4 hours (possibly up to 8) and this will take place anywhere between tomorrow, Saturday, and Monday.

Again, terribly sorry to put all you guys thru this but I have a huge suspicioun that either a competition of the site or someone who has a grudge on the site is causing such server strain because there's no other explanation for some of the things I've noticed with the server.

I dunno if this is to me or DM, but if over half the reviews on godaddy are that low, making the average 2.5 out of 5, it obviously means it's not very good. It means that something is wrong, and godaddy may intentionally be doing this. If that is the case, the BBB would be able to stop that.

Maybe we should have GYR and the games on one server and the none multimedia stuff on another. Then the board wouldn't have to suffer because of the game room and gyr.

Yeah I think next month we'll need to begin working on getting a second server or hosting (probably a file hosting site that costs money with direct links) for just the files. This is definitely something I want to do but it'll take time to add all the files to that other host and than manually re-update every single link in the game room, that's why I haven't done it yet.


Also, Jigsaw and I have confirmed that someone is intentionally draining vizzed cpu and bandwidth. We have an idea of who it is but we're going to wait until we have enough proof before we reveal who we think it is.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
