I've decided to make this thread since I like both anime and drawing, and I have Viz that I want to give away.

Here are the rules:
Post a picture of an anime or manga character you've drawn (or however else you created it) with your username in the picture, and give the character's name and the anime/manga that they're from. You can have more than one character in the picture, as long as it's still just one picture. I'll allow up to two entries per person. Also, the character MUST be from an anime or manga. If they aren't from an anime or manga, your entry won't be counted.

I'd like for as many people as possible to be able to enter, so you don't even have to be good at art, as long as you're creative.
No matter how it's made, anything counts, as long as you make it yourself. It can be drawn, painted, designed digitally, sewn, etc.
Absolutely anything you can make is fine, no matter what it is.

I'll be giving away viz, though I'll be deciding on the amount later. If a lot of people enter, I'm going to choose more than one winner, with more Viz for 1st place. I'm thinking at least 15,000 Viz for first place.
EDIT : There will only be one winner since there weren't many entries. The winner will get 20,000 Viz.

After the contest ends, I would like people to either post their vote in this thread or PM me their votes to decide the winner. Voting will end on July 14th.

Right now I'm thinking I'll end the contest on July 1st, though if very few people have entered by then, then I'll probably make it last longer.
EDIT: There haven't been many entries, so, like I said, I'm going to extend the contest. It will end on Wednesday, July 9th.

Also, I'm going to be entering too, since I don't plan on deciding the winner(s) myself. If I win, the prize for the place I'm in will be given to the person after me.

I'll probably be editing this post a lot, so it might be worth it to check back here occasionally.

I would love to enter, if I could draw... xD. Instead of a poll though, you could have everyone vote on their favorites here by posting in the thread, it would eliminate people's ability to vote for themselves. 

I'll enter! What's the due date? Does it have to be a single image or can it be a comic? Will you be docked points if the drawing is traditional art and scanned in opposed to digital art?

Thanks for the idea. Also, I'd like for as many people as possible to be able to enter, so I think I'll change this from just drawing to art in general. Anything someone can make that looks like an anime character will count.

Second: Either one is fine.
Third: Either is fine, but that's really up to everyone who votes. I have no idea how other people will decide. I'd say just do whichever one you want.

aux1printer :     I have no intention of entering as I really cannot draw to save my life.. ,My reason for posting here is that whilst having people vote for which piece they like the most seems like a good idea.. It will ultimately end up being almost like a popularity contest. After all people will still vote for their friends.. 

It's your competition it'd be better if you just judged them yourself then no one complain about the legitimacy of the winner. 

So we're only allowed to write characters from official shows and manga series'? That's dull, why can't we show out own creations and provide back story if we want to? That way we can provide even more creative art pieces for the thread, either way it's your choice, just a thought.

Local Mods : Can I have this moved to the art forum? I feel like it belongs there more than here since it's an art contest and not a discussion thread based on Anime or Manga. Thank you very much.

sonicmcmuffin : I understand that that could be a problem, but I feel like if I was the only person choosing the winner(s), that would just be my opinion on what's best. I would like to try to think of a way to make sure the winner(s) are chosen fairly, but if I can't, I think that having everyone vote would at least be better than just my opinion. I will keep trying to think of better ways to do this, though.

Frodlex : I do want to allow as much creativity as possible, but I think something like that would work better as a seperate contest from this one, rather than having both existing anime/manga characters and original characters in one. If this contest gets a lot of entries I would like to make more art contests sometime, so I might do something like that in the future. Also, about this thread being moved to the art forum, I would rather it stay here. I don't think I made it clear enough in my original post, and I should probably change the title of the thread, but I'd like people who aren't great at art to be able to enter too. I feel like entering in this contest requires people to like anime/manga, but not necessarily art, since I'm trying to allow people to do a lot of things to enter. Though if you still think it should be moved, I'll accept that. I'm sure that, as a mod, you would understand this site better than I do.

Maybe you could change the thread title to "Anime/Manga Fan-art contest!" instead then, it would serve to make sure there is less confusion here and allows people to make sure they know exactly what they're clicking on when they go through threads and minimizes the chance of causing confusion and having someone post a original character.

Frodlex : I guess I'll do that, though that's not really what I meant when I said I should change the title. I was saying that I don't think people necessarily need to like art to enter this contest, so I think it might be better for it to be in the anime forum.

Ugh, not meaning to double post but when I replied to your response you I had only read the part under my name, when I finished my post I decided to read your response to Muffin for whatever silly reason and decided to post again due to the fact an edit may be missed by you, anyway I'll get to the point now.

Yes, having one or even 20 judges for this competition it will be biased no matter what because in truth it is still a matter of opinion. If it is just you judging you can base it on whoever you personal please, your competition your rules (While Vizzed rules still apply.) If you want you can have more people offer their opinions as judges but it'll still be biased, no matter what it will be, just how it is. Honestly however you choose to approach this is acceptable, acceptable however is also a matter of opinion and really it just stacks and stacks and stacks.

In short, it is your choice.
