Ok lets get started, shall we?

Here are the top reasons why respect is important in our everyday lives:

1. Jobs- Employers look for your level of respect for others when they are interviewing you.

2. To gain respect from others- No-one will respect you if you don't respect them just like how someone will turn their face from a drunkard its like that with ill-mannered people.

3. Friends- Think of it this way who wants to be friends with a bully or bandit or thief....no-one
If you maintain how you treat others they will treat you the same way.
4. Respect for the elderly- The elderly may seem boring but half of the times they have alot of treats like stories, candies, money or even valuable life lessons. They have full experience of life and they know all the tricks and techniques you still have not learned.

With this in mind i hope you realise how important this respect thing is .

Nice information there. It is almost like an inspiration post-it note or daily calendar thing.  Try another one.

You have just contradicted yourself with the fourth statement.

Respect is important, although receiving to much of it can cause something called an ego to pop out sometimes. And we all know how fun that is.

Lack of respect also tends to make people more hostile.

In a simple scenario, a parent who shows lack of respect for their teenage child's privacy would often have to deal with the teenager's hostility towards that matter.

In a much more complex situation, it would probably be how the victors of war would treat captives (men, women, children; it doesn't matter) in the classical period. And in some cases, how captives are/were treated in this period of time.

I  think that is mostly true, but if we are to talk about respect I think it would be wise to talk about the bad ways of receiving respect.
Don't:
- Expect Fear to be a good way to get/give respect. Don't ever bully someone nor give the bully satisfaction for bullying you.
- Expect immediate respect after messing up. It is their choice on how they think about you, and unfortunately they may not be the forgiving type and you'll have to work to get respect back. However, feel free to be the forgiving type yourself because I personally believe in second chances.
- Don't expect an overwhelming respect due to you being "entitled" or "better" than the other. They deserve you respect as equal as you do from them.
