There are so many members that surely some of you have made interesting discoveries before?

For instance, last summer I was walking in the woods that can be found behind my house and I found the ruins of what seemed to be a small cottage or house. All that was left from the erosion is the rocky/cement walls of possibly the basement. It has a dirt floor, and hidden behind one of the rocks was a notepad and pen that acted as a time capsule where people would sign their name if they found it. There where only 4 other signatures and the last one dated back to 1988. That is possibly the greatest discovery I have (and will) make in my life...so what are some of yours?

Sure, I did.

I have discovered a wallet in a garden store once when I was little. It contained just 30 euros and I put it in my pocket. When I was home I took a look at what was inside but my sister saw it, she told my mom and she said that it should return to the rightful owner. So we asked the garden store to make a advertisement of it but after more than a year no one asked anything about it and I could keep the 30 euros.

Other things I have discovered is that around 10 people of my class are going to quit next year, that almost half of my class smokes weed or has smoked it at least once and that my mom doesn't want me to be so addicted to Vizzed.

You could say that I discover unusual things

I discovered the full potential of Swiss Cheese. That stuff can go with anything.

I had a few laughs when I came to this thread, though for a few different reasons.

First... it's SOOOO awesome that you found a capsule like that!  I've never found one but often thought it would be fun to search for those or even go geo-caching.  That being said... 1988 isn't all THAT old is it!?  I mean.. I was born in 1987! hehe.

Even being from 1988 though.. it's still cool. I mean.. think about it.. I was ONE years old!  Think of how old those people are and how much their lives have probably changed in all that time!

Did you sign it and place it back?  I hope so!

As for the other reason I laughed:
When I saw this thread title, it made me think about an assignment I once gave my students.  The funniest thing I ever read from one of my students was this:
"The first thing I did was discover that there are 365 days in a year."

It was the first sentence in their paper and I would have spewed liquid if I was drinking.   I wish I had framed that.

I've never made any cool discoveries myself. Not really.

Singelli : It's not incredibly old, but I'm 15 years old so that means someone found that about 11 years before I was born! Also, of course I signed it! I plan on heading out there and checking to see if anyone else has found it this weekend.
Don't worry about not discovering anything yet, your onlyyy (*quick calculations*) 27 years old! Holy crap, you still have plenty of years to go out there and discover something! As for that student...I wish him the best in luck in life...he's gonna need it.
