So last week I started driver's ed. The first drive they had us do was along various roads and a neighborhood in our community. The next day they had me drive on the freeway and around downtown. On Monday, they want to see me drive on various country roads. Sooo, ya, I'll be getting my permit soon and so make sure you stay off the roads!

Nice man! =)

It doesn't feel like too long ago that I had to go through that whole process. Hardest part was all those hours waiting at the DMV! =P

Did you have to do any classroom instruction in drivers ed? Where I live, at least, the test I had to take for the permit was just a computerized multiple choice test.

I wasn't even supposed to have driven before taking it.

Good luck on your permit and eventually, your licence!

I wish you luck on your future driving test.

You would have to wait 6 months after you get your permit for the test, right? My gosh, I remember my driving tests. The test itself was easy, but I had like a really huge nervous breakdown in all of them. I didn't get my license until the third try.

You'd probably do better than me, though. Just uh, keep practicing on the road after you get your permit.

EideticMemory : Ya, I have to attend classes about 5 days a week. From what I hear the state test is going to be similar to yours too.

Good luck! I remember how my legs were trembling after my first driving class. I have my license but I seldom get to drive a car. I could drive with my dad (he doesn't let me have his car to myself) but it's extremely stressful when he's basically screaming in my ear.

Good luck on the test.

I personally never found Driver's Ed all that helpful as I kind of knew what to do ahead of try (by playing hours and hours of Need 4 Speed and Grand Theft Auto, I learned what NOT to do while driving lol). I also found that the instructors kind of like to nit-pick all the mistakes so it didn't help my confidence.

Some words of advice, try to charm the instructor or distract them on a subject (my instructor's kid played football so I talked about football and college while I drove). I know that I messed up on pulling to the curb a bit; but the instructor said that I was still in the okay zone and I passed on my first attempt.

Overall trust your instincts and do the best you can do. If you feel like you screwed up, don't think about that mistake and worry about the next part of the test. Be confident and you will pass.

Good luck!!
