Does anyone else like the Pontiac fiero here are some pictures

Here one i found on some how stuff works article and the rest of the pics on Wikipedia.

I think its perfect in looks. it goes a little down on performance but some people put v8 engines in these things And they are fast.
At first in 1984 it was rather crappy. GM wouldn't give them the performance parts because they rejected the idea of a pontiac sports car
So they called the Fiero a commuter car instead unfortunately they didn't have good parts for a commuter car so in 1984 it wasn't the best car yet.
But eventually they made the Fiero gt with its own suspension and an i-6 instead of an i-4

It was going to have a corvetteish version in 1989 but...
Unfortunately the stopped making them in 1988 production for a 1989 model was planned but it never happened because gm executives thought
- sports cars were dead (they rethought this after the Mazda Miata)
- it would eat the corvette sales
Some executives argued (after the miatas success) that it was foolish not to make it but unfortunately there was not another Pontiac sports car until the Pontiac solstice

I personally am looking into the fiero as a first car as its cheap enough i think i can have that much money in two years.

I also have a pic of the 89 prototype it is attached

It actually doesn't look that bad to be honest, the first one doesn't look like it is all that great, but the 89 prototype looks a little more promising even though it is from behind. Personally I think there are cooler 80s cars out there, but this one isn't all bad...I hope you can save up enough money to buy this car in two years, the good thing it that it is cheap, so you won't be throwing that much money away if something were to happen while driving in it.

Razor-987 : The 89 prototype pic has front and back on my end could you try again?
Anyway I like it for some reason but then again there are people who are mega fans of the AE86 corolla.
But i agree with you the first red one looks funny.

Not the best Pontiac, but it is pretty nice for the 80s. Maybe Pontiac's best sports car. They struggled with what they were trying to accomplish. In my opinion, the Grand Prix takes the cake.
