Okay, so I have recently been hunting for shiny pokemon in pokemon x and I have pretty much caught all the pokemon you can using the chain fishing method, and now I would like to try using the pokeradar method because there is a different variety of pokemon I can get using this.

The problem is that it looks rather complicated to me and it doesn't make a lot of sense. So if someone could explain it to me and give me the basic gist of what you need to do for it to work, then that would be great. All I know is that you shouldn't go for grass on the edge and you should try to go for the ones that shake the fastest, but other than that I really don't know  a lot about this method.

So, just a basic explanation of the mechanics and the rules to using this method would be much appreciated. Also a good location to use pokeradar would also be helpful as well. Thanks, I really hope to eventually find success with this method.

well.............
1st. you NEVER use the joystick. only use the d-pad
2nd. always have super repels.
and 3rd. it takes time.

first, put on a repel. then find a big patch of grass and then stand on one of the patches. Next, pull out the poke radar(best choice is to register it) and hit use. certain patches of grass will start to shake and the music will change. from here, you must run into the same pokemon 40 times. then the odds of finding a shiny drop to 1/200. there are certain things to remember though. do NOT run into any patches that are barely shaking. upon doing so will reveal this text box "huh? there dont seem to be any pokemon here......." always go for patches that are shaking heavily. because they have the highest chance of getting you the pokemon you need. if you cant use any available patches of grass, get away from the patches and walk 50 steps, then use the poke radar again. this will reset the patches. and finally, there are certain things that can break your chain.

-using rollerskates
-random encounters that were NOT encountered in the patches of grass
-the chain will randomly break
-going to a patch near the edge
-going to a patch adjectent to another one

and here are some routes to use the poke radar (the best)

-satalune forest
-route 5
-route 22
-route 21
-route 15
-route 7
-route 10

Mega Mewtwo X : Okay, that makes sense, but say for example that you are in a patch of grass and you use the pokeradar and the grass starts shaking but you can't really tell or you weren't really paying attention to the grass, could you technically walk around the grass patch again and then use the pokeradar a second time without it technically breaking your chain? Like say in the pokemon village are for instance, you use the pokeradar  but you are uncertain of the patch you are supposed to go to, can you move do a different area in that same patch of grass and try again without having your chain reset?

And also, of the patches of grass, are you supposed to go for the one that shakes at the same speed (will that patch contain the same pokemon) or is there only one spot that will work and the others will just mess up your chain?

uh.....yeah, that's were you walk away from the grass patches and walk 50 steps. see, the poke radar has to recharge every time you use it by you walking 50 steps.

and no, I think there can be multiple patches. you just have to find the ones shaking around
the most.
