I'm going to reach way back there on this one: the first game that I think made me cry was "Hey you, Pikachu". Yeeeeah... I just said that. The ending was so sad, I could almost cry just talking about it (tearing up right now lol).

Unlike films and TV programs, I enjoy a game with a story that can move me to tears, because by that point you feel so invested in it that you've just fallen in love with it or some aspect of it at the least.

Another game that made me cry, or at least put me on the verge of tears (can't remember if I actually cried or not) was The Legend of Zelda - The Twilight Princess. That game's ending left me a bummed for like three days. lol It definitely was the most emotionally moving game I've had the privilege of playing so far. I was a bit worried after I finished it, because I had never felt like I was attached to a video game character, but Midna broke my heart. xD I actually felt like I had lost something, and I just sat there staring at the end screen for probably five minutes. I would love to make a story that moving some day.

Technically I have NOT cried while playing any game. However, when I was younger, I watched Dragon Ball Z all the time. I remember I cried during plenty of different parts in the show. So when I was playing the respective game, I knew what was going to happen, so it didn't make me cry. I already cried about it when I watched the show on TV. But the parts where Goku and Vegeta sacrificed themselves always gets to me no matter what I'm doing.

Oh, geez, I cry a lot during some video games. lol Any character death in Mass Effect makes me cry even though I've played through the game so many times and I know it's coming. Crying happens a lot when I play through that trilogy. Another game that gets me is Tomb Raider when Roth dies.

I cried for 5 hours after beating Super Paper Mario in sadness.
Spoiler:
Pixi leaves the world forever. That's why I cried, and then the music makes it worse. The situation of Pixi leaving Mario after an entire adventure is just saddening for me.
That was in 2009, about a week after playing.

Then there's the very common "lose a game and then cry your eyes out" frustration. I can't stress how many times I cried trying to speedrun levels in Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Heroes. Now, I would say "Not teh urn" while slightly angered after failing a new record, especially with Team Rose's records on The Sonic Center. Those are ridiculous. I know how to do the power formation flying gravity glitch, and those don't make me cry, but I would laugh because they are situational in speedruns and not that recommended in live stream WR attempts.

I'd like to say I've cried to a sad video game, but honestly I haven't. It makes me feel bad too because all the youtube comments in sad game endings are like "Seriously, this made me cry " and I'm just sitting there not even close to crying. Idk if i'm just heartless, or if most people are lying :/. This is talking about sad cries, not rage cries. I've cried in rage a few times.

By the way, Eirinn: I thought, "How would the ending of Hey You Pikachu be sad???" and so I looked it up on youtube, and you were right, it's really sad D:

I am a very emotional gamer, I'm a sucker for a good storyline.

The first game that ever made me cry was Kingdom Hearts 2 during the credits, Not because it had a sad ending or anything just because it was a legendary game and I was sad too see it end. (The beautiful music helped too.)

The most recent game that made me cry was The Last Of Us, never have I ever been that affected by a death within the first 15 minutes of a video game. Sucker Punch did a great job with Character development.

The game I shed the most manly tears to was The Walking Dead Season One. The ending was phenomenal, everyone knew exactly what had to happen, but seeing it with our own eyes made it all the more saddening.

Moments like that are why I believe character development is one of the most important things in a video game, especially modern games.

The Metal Gear Solid franchise as a whole is quite sad I can see myself crying in any of the games.  But the end of MGS3 takes the cake, I wont tell you much because of spoilers but... She was a true patriot...

The only game that made me cry was episode five of The Walking Dead's first season.

Spoiler:
You have a choice to have a 9 year old girl kill her best friend or leave him behind to die.

I'm not very easy to make cry, but that part hit me right in the kisser.

Never had a game make me cry, but there has been times where I would be playing a game, and if the story is really in depth, you kinda just sit back and go "woah" . Anarchy Reigns had a moment that did that. A couple of moments in GTA 4 did that, it's almost like you feel bad for a character, but never brought me to tears.

I don't know if it counts as a game, but Katawa Shoujo made me cry + fall in depression for a week. If that doesn't count as a game...I guess I kind of was sad whenever Dogmeat died in Fallout 3.

I NEVER cry for any media device, but some of the songs make my eyes teary... Halo has nice music and touching stories, but no crying... As close as a game ever came to making me cry would have to be The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

"Super Mario Brothers".

Toad says "Sorry Mario But Our Princess Is In Another Castle."

I Sobbed for a months.
I got a therapist.
I had shock therapy treatments to end the tears of Pain.
How could they do this to people?
Why?
It's just Evil.
Oh "the horror".

(Just Kidding.)

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. I cried at the credits because of the song "Guide you home (I Would Die for You)" because it's so beautiful song. <3

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess made me almost also cry. I like very much The Legend of Zelda games.

It's rare for me as well, but I can think of a couple

Silent Hill 2
When you're walking up he stairs towards the final boss. The flashback voiceovers from Mary while she was sick....
I swear, it gets me every time every time.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
The last support conversations between Ike and Soren. He had such a tragic back story, and the moment he reveals why he was so attached to Ike...and when he says what he was so scared to reveal.... And Ikes reaction...just wow. The most touching part of the entire game imo, and because it's a support conversation line, it's a part that some people never see.

Munkkikahvi : I have cried, because of the same games, but different reasons.
The legend of spyro: Dawn of the dragon: The reason is personal.
The legend of Zelda: Twilight princess: In the part where Midna breaks the mirror and leaves in to the shadow realm.

The video game that made me tear up the most was Dust: An Elysian Tail. I only played this game last year when I was 21, and there were about 3 or so moments that I couldn't help but cry. Maybe it was a combination of the beautiful artwork, the moving music and the gripping story that really opened the feels gate, but the biggest tear-jerking moment came at the middle of the game:

Spoiler:
When you get to Cirromon Caverns, Dust comes along Bopo, a frightened little kid who asks Dust to save his dying father, as well as the whole village, by restoring the water. I raced through the caverns, defeated the boss and brought back the water, but when I got back I was greeted to a cutscene of a teary-eyed Bopo begging for his Pa to get better...but he didn't make it. It felt so sombre, so real and heart-breaking, and the more Ahrah talked about life and death in his grandfatherly wisdom sort of way, the more tears I felt rolling down my cheek.

That game really knew how to present life and death in such a beautiful and stirring way.

Games can't really make me cry but a game that made me close to probably making me depressed or something along those lines is the end of Metal Gear Solid 4...*Sigh* Ah well it had a build-up.
