So I've been taking some basic programming lessons in school but unfortunately the teaching's really bad and the online material even worse. If some of you know some good sites for self-teaching coding (especially C# since that's the language we're working on) I'd be in-debt to you guys!

I know how you feel the teaching is bad for me too. I learned a lot of coding from codeacademy. You can learn Javascript, Python, HTML, jQuery etc.

For #C I've started using Learnconline. See how you like those site.

If worse comes to worse and both of those don't work out you could always find tutorials online or pick up a programming book. I don't really like videos or reading books on programming myself. I find it's best to do it rather then learn about it.

Well, I've been studying C# for game development purposes, and I've found Unity's C# tutorials to be good. However, at least portions of it are specific to code functions inside of Unity, so it may not be as useful to you. Also, some of it assumes that you're familiar with some basics of coding, so if you're not, it may not be for you.

So if you're wanting to develop a game, this is a must see, but otherwise, you may want to pass on it. It does cover C# programming, but as I said, it's focused on game development, and sometimes uses coding specific to Unity.

On a final note, if you're interested in other programming languages, I recommend NewThinkTank. Sadly he hasn't covered C# yet.

Eirinn : Thank you! This site rocks. I haven't checked the other one yet but since I'm probably going to study other languages I'm bookmarking that as well (What I'm studying isn't related to games but I'd love to know how to program games in the future.)

This doesn't really have anything to do with coding, but from my experiences with college. If the class isn't really teaching you anything, you should drop the class, there's no sense in paying for it if you're not learning. Remember that you're paying their salaries, and if they're not doing what you want, you should stop paying them!
