Well, after a lot of talking in chat, I had finally decided to take matters into my own hands an write a letter to FOX about bringing back Futurama. I have thought about this idea for almost a year and now it's finally time to do it.

I know it won't actually do anything, but it might be fun I guess. Later on, we decided to get to work on an actual petition because this show is wonderful. Please tell me if the letter is good and what needs to be done in order to make it better and more "Network Appropriate"

Hello, I had a question about a show. It is, well, was my favorite show before it was cancelled by FOX a while ago. That show was Futurama. I understand that at the time, Futurama was not that well received which explains the cancellation, but has found a new home where the show had thrived until it was recently cancelled again.


This show is currently a popular favorite of many TV fans, in fact, of more than 28 million fans, all of whom are disappointed that the show would not be coming back for an eighth season, which has already been planned.


My question is would FOX consider bringing back Futurama for at least one season? Right now, there are just 3 remaining animated shows on FOX that are still standing, most of which seem as though they are reaching their end.


I had also heard that during the next season of the Simpsons, Futurama will be appearing in one of the later episodes. Right now, I have no way to know if it’s still true or not, but if the crossover performs well, would the possibility of a return be at least thought of?


I can assure you that there are millions of fans who gladly accept the shows return even if it is just for one final season and I don’t know much about ratings, but with the current shows, such a boost may be very helpful for the network.

zanderlex : I have never actually written a letter to a TV network before, but I think your letter is very good. I used to watch Futurama a lot on Comedy Central and also Cartoon Network when it was airing on those networks.

Sounds like a good plan. If we get enough people to sign the petition we could actually do something. Maybe a twitter campaign will help us. 

Really getting tired of seeing cartoon threads in the television forum, all cartoon threads belong in the Cartoon/ Anime & Manga / Comic forum, please change this course of action in the future as it makes my job on site all the more difficult and will eventually lead to a ban if it continues.

While I understand it is more focused on the network the root issue of the thread is referring to a show, namely a cartoon named Futurama which is a cartoon comedy.

I crashed last night cuz I was really tired after watching that hockey game go into overtime. Ill rewrite your letter and you can see if you like the wording better, or whatever.

This is a letter regarding my pursuit to get the show Futurama back into the Sunday night animation domination lineup. Since its initial cancellation from the Sunday night animation lineup, Futurama has become a very popular cartoon on other networks. Over 28 million fans of the show were quite disappointed when the news broke of Futurama's cancellation. These fans were even more disappointed when they discovered that the eighth season had already been planned, but will never be viewed. It would be a very well received and popular decision to bring back Futurama to its roots for at least one last amazing season. I will be taking my campaign to twitter to attempt to have other fans rally around this idea as well. Please take this suggestion seriously and Futurama's loyal fan base will do the rest.

bobq : wow, I can't believe I didn't use Dear FOX. That would have been a better start. Though I don't actually know if it's actually FOX that does these, they have all sorts of different divisions.

LOL at moving a thread and having your panties in a notch because someone considers a cartoon show thats PG-13 and has adult not television, keep up the good work garbage mod. And after what I have seen since futuramas second stint and dvd movies I don't want to see it ever again. It's first stink that last like 3 seasons was great but when they brought it back everything was worse.

Maybe an online petition could help show the TV network just how many people love Futurama

Destifen : I was thinking about doing a petition, but that would just be for fun, to see actually how many people still love the show. Never got a response yet. Still Can't wait to see the Simpsons episode with them in it that was emntioned, that will give one last look at the show.

I don't know if you guys know or if its playing only in my station but Futurama is airing on Ch 27.1 on Sundays somewhere beyond 12pm. It last up to an hour before some boring show comes up.
