awesomeguy279 : Ps-Ps3 have pretty good controllers. It has a great hand feel and the shoulder buttons work well (unlike the Snes controllers). Sony hasn't changed much at all with their controllers since the Playstation but that is not too bad of a thing because they did a pretty good job with it. I like the Xbox controller though, it has 6 face buttons and depending on the model, it resembles the Sega Saturn controller (somewhat).

I like simple controllers, and the simplest which I have used is the NES controller. I played the Nes and SNES a lot during my childhood, and the Nes controller is a great way to introduce yourself to gaming. It's also quite iconic among the gaming community.

Oh how I love the current PS3 controller. I am so used to these controllers that it just doesn't really feel right if I am using some other controller. Its the perfect controller for me.

I gotta say that the PS2 controller was my favorite controller as a kid. It fit so well in my hands and I thought that it was the smoothest of the current controllers at the time. Today, it's too small for my much bigger hands, WHICH, is why I really like the PS4 controller. It's larger in size, and I really do like the similarity of it to the previous controllers.

zanderlex : Right! When I first got my 360 after years with my PS2, the transition is really kinda awkward and it didn't feel right.

I've switched back and forth plenty of times between the Playstation controller and the Xbox 360 controller. I can't really get a "good" feel for both of them. Every time I start playing my Playstation, I'm always thinking "Man, this controller is too small." And I think the exact opposite when I go to the Xbox.

Since I couldn't get a feel for them, I would have to say my favorite controller is the NES controller. Not only is it my favorite, I've only had one. I've only needed one. I have gone through my share of Playstation and Xbox controllers. Dare I say that the NES controller is the best quality made controller?

Out of all the gaming systems I've played, I still love the 360 controller the most. For longer playing sessions, I find it really comfortable and the button placement isn't awkward to me like some controllers.

I guess I'd consider the PS3 controller my favorite, not for any specific reason. I've been playing PS3 obsessively for the past 2 and a half years or so so I'm pretty used to it.

I also LOVE the fact that it's wireless, I can move freely and still be able to play without the stress of sitting in one spot! xD

This is a tough one for me. I like the Game Cube controller and the NES controller (believe it or not), but my favorite is probably the PS4 controller. I can easily say that my least favorite is the Xbox 360 controller.

YourMajestyKen : Whoa, haven't seen your name in a while

zanderlex : So true. And one thing I love about PlayStation consoles is that the controllers remain similar enough that I can get a new Sony console and not have to re-learn all of the buttons like I do with a Nintendo system. I've noticed when I play with someone in my family and they ask "what button does that?" I'll just fire back an answer without even thinking. And when I look over at them searching the controller for the button I mentioned, I wonder why they can't remember where the X button is. Then it sinks in: "oh yeah, they haven't been playing with this controller design for nearly two decades like me". lol

MattyIce : Hey dude that's sort of older than me technically, I have to agree about the XBox controllers. I saw the XBox One controller on TV the other day and couldn't help but think it looked oversized and clumsy. I understand fans of it like it for the same reason I like PlayStation controllers (familiarity), but after nearly twenty years of Sony gaming, I can't picture a controller that big being comfortable. The PlayStation controllers seem to be molded perfectly for hands.

As for my answer, I like the PSX-PS3 controllers about the same, and until recently I'd probably have picked them, but I think the PS4 is similar enough to be great, and looks better. So I'll go with PS4, then PSX-PS3, and then GameCube controllers. I absolutely loved the GameCube controller's look. It was so bright and just screamed fun. But while I didn't have problems with the controller at all, I have to say that it was never quite on the same level as the PlayStation controllers.

Also, when I say PSX controllers, I mean after the dualshock came out.

Eirinn : Haha! Yeah, try telling that to my wife, whose spent her whole life playing just Xbox. She can't play Playstation with a Playstation controller. I've had to painstakingly go online and try to find her an Xbox controller with a Playstation hook up. Long story short, I finally found her one. But she needs to use an Xbox controller to play Playstation games. I just can't get past that. Xbox controllers ARE really big and clumsy. I absolutely agree with you. To play games on Vizzed, I'm using my PS3 controller. I think I need to just stick to my PS3 controller, and never go back to Xbox again.

Probably the XBOX 360 controller, because it conforms to my hands so well... especially when I attach my chat pad... it just feels... right.

I like The GameCube controller & Xbox 360 Controller the best because they really fit my hands well, unlike Playstation controllers, although now I dont use controllers anymore. I am a PC gamer, so yeah.

My first console ever was the ps2, so a DualShock2 is my favorite. It has always felt right when I had it in my hands.

My favorite would have to be the PS2 controller.  Yeah, there's definitely some nostalgic-based bias here, since the PS2 was my first home console, but it just feels so solid.  It feels great no matter what game I play on it, and it's very comfortable.  I also think the layout is great and also think even the smaller details (like how tight the analog sticks are, or how the buttons feel) are spot on.  Some could argue that the PS4 controller is more comfortable (and I can attest to that since I own all the PlayStations) but the PS2's controller still just feels best to me.

As far as some of my favorites that aren't from Sony, I really love the 3-button Genesis controller because it's just so comfortable, and I also really like the Game Cube controller.

kazenoklonoa_45 : Alot of people really like the Ps2 controller. The Dpad on the Genesis controller is the best I have ever used (and I have played on plenty of controllers). I like the way it sort of rolls around and the buttons are in a perfect layout, the 6 button also has a perfect layout and is the best controller for tournament fighters.

On a side note, I love Klonoa. I have been playing it on my Vita alot lately.

GenesisJunkie : I really have used a lot of controllers in my time...Super Nintendo, PlayStation, GameCube, GameBoy, Wii, WiiU gamepad, and the Pc Controller that I use now. I think that my favorite has to be the gamecube or the Wii remote with nunchuck. The gamecube had plenty of buttons and always felt solid in my hands. I love how the ever important A button was also the biggest of the four normal buttons. I also love the Wii remote and nunchuck because of the possibilities that they present, and they do not hurt my thumbs like the sideways remote did on metroid other M. Most of my top all time favorites include the games that are played with these two controllers. Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Defender ans Super Smash bros are examples of the Gc Controller. Super Mario Galaxy, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and the Wii Sports games are some examples of the latter controller.

FaithFighter : I am not big on the Gamecube controller. It is oddly shaped (little better than the N64's but still not good), the D-pad is not great (reminds me of the Dreamcast's) and the analog stick is not really my favorite ether. I do like that Nintendo didn't use the diamond layout for the face buttons though. I hate the Wii thing, I wouldn't even call it a controller but to each his own. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

One good thing to say about the gamecube is that at least it has a good d-pad.  I swear d-pads after the 16-bit era have gone downhill.  I love fighters and a good d-pad is crucial for my style of game-play.  But the Snes controller isn't my favorite because of all the newer features now available.  I love my analog sticks and triggers for racing games so my favorite controller is the Xbox 360 wired controllers.  They improved the d-pad over the horrible one on the standard controllers.  My ideal controller however is the Playstation 3 (haven't tried 4 yet) with a SNES d-pad on it.  Oh that would be so freaking cool.

Ugh all this love for gamecube controller. For nostalgia, totally NES controller, but it was boxy and hurt your hands after awhile. For form and function, i think, hm. Gimme PS2 controller any day. 4 shoulder buttons, 4 face buttons, 2 menu buttons ( like Nintendo taught us) and options for d-pad or stick. Plus a camera stick that was made for big hands. Someone should say Atari Jaguar for the lolz.

I think my favorite is the GameCube controller, because certain games simply feel perfect with it and no other controller could replicate that perfect feel. Especially Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Party 7..those are just a few.
