windows 8.1 destroyed my plugin

Right so I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 since my father suggested that is should do so. So after downloading it I noticed that my laptop now loads up slower that before, but anyway I was going to play some Earthbound for the SNES and it didn't load. I figured that it was just my laptop so I refreshed the page and tried again, no luck. So I tried a different game and again no luck.

so after restarting my laptop, defragging, uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, 30 minute later I get very angry. That was 3 days again and it still doesn't work. I've done everything it says to do in case the plugin doesn't work but still no luck.

I need help with this because I really don't want to lose my save file on Earthbound, since I'm 4 hours into it.

If anyone can help with this problem then please do.
