Hi there. I just got a generic little controller to use for my laptop when playing games; however, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to actually manually change those controls! I have Recettear that I'm trying to play it with, but it's not wanting to cooperate. The controller is a TTX Tech Turbo Gamepad. It essentially looks like a Playstation 2 controller, but it's very specifically for the PC.

I have checked the settings, properties, and disc provided for it and can find nothing relating to specifying the controls. It is currently defaulted to the left stick being the standard turning, while the D-Pad does the same thing. The right stick and the ABXY buttons all do the same thing. Not quite sure what the bumpers and/or trigger buttons do, as I haven't had need to use them yet.

How would I go about manually changing the controls?

Ktanaqui : Go to devices and printers on your computer, then you should see your controller show up in that section if you installed it already. Then you can right click it and click game controller settings or whatever option it is to change the controls. In here you can manually change the controls and usually it will ask you to do a configuration test and ask you to press buttons on your controller you want for said button command.

I've already tried that and can't locate it. Don't you think I would have tried? I'm not your typical dumb bimbo - and I've been around this site for a very long while, hence why I knew to come here and ask when I couldn't locate it anywhere else.

May I sadly say that you were ripped off? This companie's controllers don't work for much - well, if they do, they don't work for retro systems in the retro game room. I've been using a cheap controller from Logitech which was like 20 bucks, for the past 2 years.

tRIUNE :

I don't want it for the RGR. It was only $9 so it's not that problematic. Isn't there a program that can re-assign the buttons in existence? I remember hearing of one before but I really do not remember what it was called or anything about it other than it existed. Years ago. All I know about this particular one is it was originally set up for use on old windows. (98/Me)

If it's really that much of a lost cause, I'll give up and hand it back over to Micro Center and tell them that it didn't work and get the whole whopping $9 back. I'd rather not if I don't have to. If it comes down to that, I'm going back to ordering from the internet, because I'm not paying the prices here in Maryland - everything is like... raised. Just because it's Maryland.
