So, last week my school was having a student exchange programme with a school from Italy.

About 20 students arrived to our school on monday and we were hosting them all week long

They were having their own lessons in school while we had our lessons like normal, after that we took them all over the place... we made a tour for them around the old town, other cities, the zoo, and the national opera

this was a fun and hectic experience

And on october we will go to their school and they will host us, so I might make another post about that

huh... I've never hosted exchange students or been  a part of a school who did... but I've always wanted to.  I always thought they would learn the lessons of the new country though, as a way of being exposed to new things.

I bet getting to take them out was loads of fun. XD

Yes, I have. Well, sort of.

My high school hosts Japanese students to come to our school and visit the classrooms here. It was an assignment for my Japanese class.

We went in groups and the whole school had this cultural festival thing in honor for the visiting Japanese students. We exchanged gifts and did some activities such as introducing them to the foods here and weaving. There was some cultural dance, too. The Japanese students showed us Kendo and Calligraphy writing of their kanji letters. It was really fun and interesting.

I have never done this, but I always wanted to. My dream was to go to school in another country. It was only one week long?

I have always wanted to participate in a student exchange program, but I have never been given the chance. Whether that be a group of students coming to my school, or me going to another school, I wish I could have been a part of either. Now, that isn't to say that we haven't had any exchange students, because we have. However, they are only 1 or 2, and it varies on which country they come from. Usually the exchange students are either extremely shy, or hang out with the jocks, and they end up never being in my classes, anyway, so it isn't like I have any personal contact with them, either. Ah, I miss out on so much being in my school.
