zanderlex : It's possible to get 4096? I thought the game ended once 2048 is reached. I didnt know that you could go past that tile.

Also I still haven't beaten it. I was very close, but I moved the wrong way, which ruined the game. Had I not moved the wrong way, I would have won in four moves.

This is just one of those games that are addicting for some reason.

However for this one I got bored of it withing a week. Mainly because all I was doing was slashing.

Honestly, I have no idea how anyone can get addicted to this game. I have played it about five or so times, and I just really don't care for it. I got to 1024 and after that I really didn't care if I would ever get to 2048 or not. To tell the truth, most of these "game fads" usually fail to catch my attention in contrast to them grasping many millions if mindless individuals.

The "strategy" is simple to find out, adaptability repetition. Just keep doing the same thing over and over, unless you get a block to spawn in an awkward area, in which case you "adapt" the strategy.

There is also a newer version caled 2048 Plus which is played on a 5 bu 5 grid. The highest block I got on this one is 8192 and my high score was about 150,000.

My high score for regular is about 50,000.

I spent over 20 minutes hitting the arrow keys randomly (I have no clue what compelled me to do so). At no point did the blocks fill up more than half the screen. I called it quits after I passed 60,000.

Like I said, it's virtually impossible to lose.

That game is extremely addicting.  Reddit in particular was addicted to the game, with tons of posts on /r/gaming showing scores and interesting screenshots.  Those posts tended to be among the most upvoted and most commented on for a while.  Its popularity has since slowed down.  It is quite the awesome game.

I might play it again some time, but for now I am done and I doubt I will find another mobile game with this much potential.
