I haven't played Sonic 4, but I've played the other three main games in the series countless times. And now I have a question for you Sonic addicts. Where does Sonic 4 rank in terms of the series? Is it as good as the previous games? Better? Or does it fall flat? I'm thinking about getting it at some point, but should I get my hopes up?

I have played Sonic the hedgehog 4 episode II on my ps3. I'll say it is pretty fun at first, but later on, it gets boring fast because some levels are really hard and the homing attack virtually does everything for you which is boring.... I think I may actually like the previous sonic games better. Sonic 4 has amazing graphics but somewhat meh gameplay.

This game really didn't make me think that it was real sonic. That game was fake sonic. The sonic you get when they put no thought into the game and when they just say whatever to it and do nothing. I was dissapointed with the game.

It was really bad. The gameplay starts off okay but then it just becomes horrible. It was an attempt to get the feel of the genesis in 3D and that just did not work out. Think of it more of a side game and play Sonic Generations if you want 2D Sonic. It's a lot better in gameplay, graphics and it actually has a story. Nonetheless Sonic 4 should not really count for the original Sonic series.

It honestly tried to be a like the Genesis game, but felt like it was just rehashing old levels with new skins, and trying to add in moves that were Post-Adventure into it, throwing it all out of whack. The music tried to sound like the old MIDIs, but it was instead just super compressed music made with today's instruments, and didn't sound even pleasant.

Then there's that gimmick thing with "Episode: Metal" you get by "locking" on Episodes 1 and 2 together, and it's just four levels with Metal Sonic... not at all as fun as I expected...
