Well I take care of kids every day.  Every kid likes different foods. I have found that they will eat if you make it different from the traditional foods.

EDIT!  There are now two recipes on here!  I will add more as I get time!

First is the pumpkin cookies for snack time.

First mix 2 eggs, 2 sticks of butter, 1 or 2 cups of applesauce (Considers how sweet you want it) together till it is a nice fluffy cream.

Then mix the pumpkin mix from a can and 2 table spoons of cinnamon.

Finally add 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and baking powder.

Put the mix in the fridge for an hour.

When it's properly cool heat the oven to 375 and cook your cookies for 12 to 15 minutes!

(OPTIONAL) Add a sprinkle of chocolate sprinkles on top of your cookies to add sweetness!
(WARNING!) After cooking place in plastic bag to keep soft!

Second is fruit home made ice cream!

Now you need a good blender, knife, cutting board, and plastic storage bags.

The fruit I use is strawberries and bananas which seem to have the best ice cream like consistency.

For how much fruit you need is 1 banana for each person, 4-5 strawberries for each person.

Cut your fruit up in small bite size pieces and put them in the plastic storage bag.  Freeze for about 2 hours to make sure the fruit is frozen all the way through.

When frozen put into blender and put a 1/4 cups of milk or less in with the fruit.  I usually don't add any sugar unless you find it too bitter add a teaspoon of sugar into the mix.

Now blend until the mix is nice a creamy.  I find it took me a few tries till I got the right blend some times if it goes on too long the mix can go liquid and loose the ice cream texture.

Scoop out into dishes and enjoy!  I'm sure your family will love this!

As for the first recipe, I think it sounds great. I never had Pu,pkin cookies before, but I love them both equally. I might try to make one of these one day.
As for the second recipe, meh, I don't like fruit. I kind of like Bananas, so I might try that one day, but no other fruits.

I've got a question about the first recipe because I'm thinking of making it with my kids this weekend. (they like it when daddy gets all unpredictable and spontaneous)

That's 1 teaspoon of baking soda AND 1 teaspoon of baking powder?

thephantombrain :
Yes if you use both it works much better.  The cookies stay fluffy and moist if used with both.

oooooh, this is lovely!  I've always tried to get people to share recipes with me, so I'm really excited to glance through this as you add on.  Do you experiment and create a lot of your own dishes?

All of my dishes are experiments that have passed the judgement of the children.

I start off with by the book recipes then I will change them to the taste of the kids I take care.

I have to admit I could never be as a good of a cook without the internet lol!  I have learned a lot buy going to allrecipes.com and also getting recipes from kids shows too!
