There are some really great PS1 games. I have some highly recommendations.

Driver - You are the wheelman
If you like open world games, This one is for you. All you do is drive around, run away from cops, and steal cars. This was my dad's favorite game. The sequel of this is pretty good.

For DS, I highly suggest Dragon Quest IX if you have some friends to play with, and even if you don't.  The Mario and Luigi games are pretty fantastic, as well.  Chrono Trigger is probably the best RPG on DS.  It has a ton of replay value.

For PSP, I suggest Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.  You can find it on the cheap, and it's a great game.

Since you mentioned horror, have you tried the Corpse Party-series? I think there are two games for PSP but I've only played the first one. As a fan of jrpgs I really enjoyed the anime-style of the game.

A more obscure horror game for the PS1, but a lot of people like it, including myself. You might also want to try the two MediEvil games. It's nothing like Parasite Eve or Resident Evil, but it's got a lot of gothic themes in it which might give it an eerie feel here and there. It's really fun.

I'd have to throw my vote in for the Mario & Luigi series. None of the games take themselves seriously. They're good for a laugh. I don't play horror games but I'm sure the M & L series would make a good break away from them.

Well for horror games i guess resident evil is the only one that really comes in mind . . . For RPG type games Kingdom Hearts is a great one. I highly reccommend that game.
