I am a freshmen in college, 19 years old. To be specific, I remember:
Pre School-this kid named Andrew in my class, playing with my Playmobile toys and Barney House in a room with a blond older woman, probably for an Occupational or Speech Therapy session, someone spotting chicken pox on me on the lower back of my neck/top of my back, and how we always napped on plastic, padded mats on the floor
Kindergarten Teachers-I had one man, one woman. Man = hispanic, bald. Woman = White/Caucasian, blond hair, young. Let's just call them by the first letters of the names they went by; Mr. V and Ms. H, respectively.
1st Grade-I had two young Caucasian teachers with dark brown/black hair. Ms. S and Ms. A (again with the names).
2nd Grade-I had Mr. F and Ms. T. It would be hard to describe Mr. F, but Ms. T was a middle-aged black woman who told me she lived near me.
I even remember the interior of the building I was in for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Moved to another school for third grade because the K-2nd grade school didn't have a third and on. It was tiny.
-3rd-Remember most students. My two teachers were Ms. R (both of them). Lets call them R A and R b. R A had a husband named Jimmy. R B replaced this other teacher who quit to do this show called While You Were Out. I clearly remember the faces and physical attributes of all 3, but would be hard to describe on here. I had a science teacher named Ms. P and a history teacher named Ms. C. We also had a Chinese Culture Program at our school. I remember my class and I ribbon dancing and doing Chinese paintings and Mr. D trying to teach me how to use chopsticks.
I went to the YMCA in Long Island City for after school regularly and remember some friends, Alex, his sister (Jolanie), Sarah, this girl named Belen (I'm not totally sure if that was her name or not, and I still wonder if that was the same girl I went to middle school, who looked like her, but didn't respond to me on Facebook to ask if she went to this YMCA). Alex, Jolanie, and Sarah were all in my group. I also remember the councilors, Zepura (my and my group's), Francis (short (?), Caucasian, blond hair), Mario, and Maritza. Maritza had to keep repeating herself in gym when we were playing kickball because I wasn't able to understand her from across the gym. People kept yelling at me to ''GO!!!'' and I felt weird because I had no idea what was going on.
I went to that YMCA again for summer camp that same year and didn't like it there because I only had one friend there (Asian girl with light skin; forgot her name) and these two black girls (I remember the names but not the spellings of them) kept accusing me of cussing when I didn't and it made me feel uncomfortable. I also remember my sister went there for summer camp and this girl named Melanie/Melody (white girl, black hair). I saw Melanie/Melody both in after school and in summer camp, but she was always in a different group than me (she was younger than me).
-4th-I MAY have had the same main teachers, R A and R B. I know I had the same social studies and science teachers, but the science teacher became Ms. M because she got married. I also had an English teacher now, who was young, who was Ms. K, and who I just Facebook messaged recently. We started color-coding the bottom, white areas of our notebooks. Green was math, purple was English, yellow was social studies. There was this new kid who came in named Alex (NOT the one mentioned before). He was Russian, with blond hair. I hung out with him and played Pokemon Emerald with him at my school's street fair and he told me I sucked (he didn't realize that if you challenge a friend again in their Secret Base in the game, the friend's Pokemon wouldn't change so I think that's why he said I sucked, but I never told him).
I also had these friends on my school bus, Ingrid (who I later realized was fake and gossipy), Pamela, Johnny, and Christopher. I played either Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire with Ingrid and we kept nicknaming Pokemon stupid names and making fun with them and listened to Christina Millian on my CD player.
-5th Grade-I had two teachers named Mr. D and Ms. P, both of whom I remember clearly and still keep in touch with. This was a rough year for me because this group of girls in my class didn't believe what I said most of the time (THAT I don't remember the reason for) and these kids (Jaspreeet, Riccardo, the blond Alex, and Nelson) kept bullying me and I found out that the blond Alex was being a fake friend before.
i then went to a second YMCA for summer camp after 5th grade / before middle schooL. In short, I remember the teams I was on, rewards for good behavior, Six Flags Trip, a few councilors, and this girl who I later saw in my middle school and had a grade with.
Then of course, I went to middle and high school and remember those!
I apologize about the length!
I can even expand upon the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade parts, upon request.
But is this honestly odd that I can remember this much?
My friend said it IS odd, but I think I know people who'd say its NOTHING (adults).
What do you think, honestly?
Why do I remember this much and my friend, who's only a year younger than me, doesn't about her early years?
