April is National Poetry Month! I would like to say I'll post a poem a day, but I don't think that's possible.

I will post what I can, though, so please, enjoy and let me know what you think!

This one is about 'character development' and people's changes over time. I tried to play on opposites and polarizing changes here- not quite sure if it worked.

A Long Way from Yesterday (or, Stones)

Look at how far I’ve come
Under the blistering sun.
Through the sheets of rain and shine,
I’ve reached this happy place of mine.

I’ve come a long way since yesterday;
My past is dead and buried.
I’m a new, changed being now,
And to go back- well, there’s no hurry.

This is my world.
I’ve built it from scratch and a mold.
It’s my safe cocoon and haven,
The peace I’ve craven.

Outside, the world is mean and scary,
A place one’d never wish to tarry.
I was like that, once, long ago,
But that’s washed away like summer snow.

It’s true I was once broken,
But it’s as if someone opened
My heart and scooped the bad out,
And put in something else with a shout.

Whoever it was, I’m grateful.

I’ve come a long way from yesterday;

And all my regrets swirl in flurries,
Because I can’t get away.

This is my world.
I built it from scratch and a mold.
It’s my jail cell and prison,
The deepest parts of me hidden.

It’s true. I was once unbroken,
But it’s like my heart’s now molten.
It’s true. I was once fixed,
But when tossed pebbles became thrown bricks…

I can’t blame the stones
When the first rock was my own.

Dragonlord Stephi : I like this poem too, It seems like someone started out as a "bad apple" and turned Into a good person. In my life sadly Is the opposite, I'm starting to relise I'm too nice for my own good lol.
