Arrowhead, the developer of the amazing Magicka and the not quite as amazing but still pretty good Showdown Effect are not developing a game under an old IP, Gauntlet, just Gauntlet. It seems that this is intended to be a reboot as it features the old characters and seems to be back to top down gameplay.

Personally I think it looks far too much like Diablo, but I'll buy it when it comes out and have a more proper opinion.

Dude, Gauntlet is one of my favorite games. I grew up playing Gauntlet one and two on the Nes and when I think about the console those are the games that come to mind. I also really enjoy the version of Gauntlet for the Sega Genesis (4 I think), but on to the topic at hand. I hate the way this looks with everything i'v got. It looks like every other mmo style game. I have never been Diablo and have no clue what it is but if it looks and plays like this then I don't want to know what it is. This game might be fun, I don't know, but it looks like a stinker to me.

Eh, I guess it looks all right. Though the top-down hack and slash type games have never been my favorite, I do enjoy some of them. Yeah, that does look like Diablo a bit, but I hoped it would be more like one of the older Gauntlet games. My favorite would have to have been Dark Legacy. I love that game to death, and I really hoped that this new Gauntlet would have been something like that, but with better graphics, fewer glitches, and probably some improved gameplay. I am actually mildly disappointed, but hey, there's nothing I can do, and I'm sure people will still enjoy it anyway, what with all the popularity Diablo has been getting, people are sure to confuse the two, or buy this game because they liked Diablo.
