I personally think of Spielberg as one of the best directors. He makes some of the best movies because they have meaning to them. I'm also a huge fan of war history and he happens to make some of the best of them. My favourite would have to be Schindlers List. It captures every tragic thing that happened in WW2 and also the heroics and evils of Oscar Schindler. It was brilliant.

What a tough question to ask. Surely Schindlers list is one of his most accomplished works but is it really the best one?

I loved Jaws, I adored all the Indiana Jones movies as a kid. I thought Minority Report was cool... I cant watch A.I.- Artificial intelligence since I am afraid the scenes where the kid robot has a perfect day with his mother would make me cry... And sometimes I think I just forget which great film was either directed, written or produced by him anyway. Oh and can anyone say that the D-day scene in Saving private Ryan is not one of the coolest scenes in war movies ever?

In all his films I see this one common thread and motive that carries them all. This common theme of a child facing his parents, more or less. Sometimes it is so sappy it drips down the walls of the movie theatre and some times it is more subtle. But I guess he has some issues there.

This is a tough one, there are just so many movies to pick from. We have the old ones such as Jurrasic Park and ET, and then we have new ones such as Transformers and Men In Black. I am going to go with Back To The Future foe this one...

TheReaper7290 : Spielberg didn't direct that though it was Joe Dante.

It's sad that most of the posts here aren't even Spielberg films -.-

I always liked war films and Spielburg films, so it's a tie between Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. Both are masterpieces in my eyes, most Spielburg films are, and my second best would be E.T.

My favorite is probably Saving Private Ryan. That one is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion. I also liked E.T: The Extra Terrestrial. Pretty popular one.

I don't watch that many movies, but jaws is up there and as far as I'm concerned, it's a speilberg movie, something about a scary shark after everyone just makes for good entertainment.

Blubcreator : Schindler's List was a very heavy, deep movie. I greatly appreciate that one and Saving Private Ryan (which was robbed by Shakespeare in Love of the Best Picture Oscar). If I want to watch something lighter I would pick E.T. (one of my favorites since it came out in the best year 1982--the year I was born!)
