Hello, fellow members of the Vizzed community. NintendoFanKimmy here, and this time I bring you my very first Professor Layton-related thread. All of you Layton fans out there are probably already well aware of the fact that Professor Layton's brother, Hershel Bronev - hold on. This is all very complicated, so let me detail things out for anyone who may have forgotten or is new to this.

Professor Layton was born as Theodore Bronev. He had an older brother called Hershel Bronev. Their parents were arrested, and they were therefore sent to an orphanage and put up for adoption. The Layton couple came along and took interest in them, yet they only wanted one child. Not knowing who was who, they decided they wanted Hershel Bronev (Professor Layton's Brother). Hershel felt bad about leaving his brother Theodore Bronev (Professor Layton) at the orphanage, so he told the couple that his brother's name was Hershel and sent him off. This is how Theodore Bronev became known as Professor Hershel Layton (he became a professor at twenty-seven). His brother Hershel eventually became known as Jean Descole, and is apparently a current enemy of Layton's.

Now that I've explained everything I think I know, I have a question - is all of this even true? This is what I made out of what I read, despite me finding the Layton Wiki frequently unreliable. So, I would appreciate some feedback to confirm (or un-confirm) my assumptions. Goodbye, everybody, and, as always, thank you for reading! NintendoFanKimmy, out!

Note: I first found out about this while looking up "Hershel Bronev" thinking it would redirect to an article on Professor Layton's brother as a child (knowing about the whole name-switching thing) and ended up with Jean Descole, hence the thread's brief description. Then, I had one of those moments when you just refuse to believe something is true and go "NOPE NOPE NOPE".
