Ok so mourinhosgum gave me a code for a game (I'm never giving you the 50000000 Viz mourinhosgum. Muhahaha!) and I downloaded it. I clicked the play button. A loading message popped up for like a half a second then went away. Then nothing happened. The game didn't load and I didn't get an error message. Anyone know how to fix it? I'd rather not e-mail Steam and ask them for help if I don't have to.

do you have a shortcut of steam on your browser.

If so right click it,  go to open file location, then open the file steamapps, click common, then find the folder called shooter.

If you did that was there things saying caveshooter crash?

tgags123 : How did you put the code in? When you first turn on steam, there should be a thing in the bottom right corner that says. ADD A GAME. Click it and then Click on ACTIVATE A GAME ON STEAM. Click NEXT. Click I AGREE. And then you put in the code there. Is that what you did?

You should be able to find an answer here: Steam Supports' Solutions That Might Work For Your Problem. I had the same issue with Forge before, though I don't remember exactly what I did, sorry. However, I'm pretty sure I was able to fix the launching issue with a solution on that page, beyond that, I don't know how to help, besides maybe re-installing the game. And yes, I'm pretty sure the OS does affect solutions, as some of them only work for specific editions of Windows, so it could just be that the game isn't supported by your OS.

If the issue has not already been fixed by now, actually seeing what you are doing and what is not working would give us a better understanding of what needs to be done to fix the issue.

tgags123 : This sometimes happens to me as well. Here's how I fix it. Open the Task Manager, go to Processes, find Steam.exe *32, click that, and hit End Process. After doing that, start Steam back up, and you're good to go.
