Let's say you get a 5 year career in any professional sport.  You have two outcomes:

1.  Five years, you make 2 million total, and you win a championship in that sport.  Pick any sport, you win the Superbowl, a World Series, etc.  After the five years, your career is over and you go back to living your current life.

2.  You go five years and make $25 million.  You are on a .400 team, you're not a great player and the team isn't any good.  You lose a lot but you walk away with 25 million bucks.

What do you choose?

The money every time.

While it's fun to win, sure, rings don't really do much. Sure you can sell the ring, but there's no guarantee yours will be worth anything anyway. I can find a ring for 30,000 dollars on EBay.

I'll take the 25 million, because I could comfortably retire and relax for the rest of my days with that kind of money.

I'd choose the 25 million dollars. Winning isn't everything and even if you loose it still can be quite fun. One of my football teams lost every single game one year and we still had a lot of fun. Even the coaches. I think...

   I guess it sort of depends a little if you are as good when you win a title as when you get the money. If you are still a great player, I'd take the $2 million. Getting tons of money is great, but winning a title is something that you should strive for over the money. Not to mention, you will be remembered when you are a champion more than if you are somebody who earned a ton of money. 
   However, I would be much more likely to go with the money if you are just an average player I take the championship, but I still think I would pick that.
