For that picture I suggest you use a color that is not so light.
Maybe Navy? Its a darker blue that might be a little easier to read against a lighter background.
A good rule to follow is if the background is light use dark text, if the background is dark use light text.

I'm actually going to disable the use of background images, it gets far to annoying when people use them because than it's very hard and sometimes even impossible to read text on top of those backgrounds. Plus it's a large amount of unnecessary data to load.
