As the title of this thread implies, Little Mac from the NES series Punch-out!! has been confirmed for SSB4 in the latest Nintendo Direct. Here is the video (link). 

What do you think of him? How about his Final Smash (Giga Mac)? Was this a valuable character slot wasted, or is Little Mac going to be a good choice? Above all, what do you think about his Power/KO meter? When filled up, Little Mac can totally launch the enemy.

To me, he seems like a very powerful character, being very fast and very strong, but the catch is that his recovery move is pretty horrible. So he's obviously not good at surviving, but he still seems way powerful. Maybe he deals very small amounts of damage, but still launches pretty far?

I like the idea of Little Mac, but first i didn't want him 'till i knew NINTENDO made Little Mac

TheJmsGamer : This thread is probably ignored because most of the people that post in the Dragon Ball Z and Super Smash Bros Forum go there for Dragon Ball Z (which is definitely inferior to Smash Bros). And apparently no one here is interested in newcomers to SSB4 anyways. Dude, practically half of the rented forums here are dead. And why would people even make multiple games for one forum? That mixes things up a little too much, in my opinion.

Barathemos : I don't know if you're really interested in SSB4 or anything, but since you're pretty much the number one fan of Smash Bros. (unless I'm a bigger fan, I really don't know) here on Vizzed, I thought you might like to post here. Because this thread is far too beautiful to be ignored.

Also, in the trailer the k.o meter is sped up because if you pause it at the right frame bowser has over 200 damage instead of the original 30 something.

People think it charges by not getting hit and hitting people as it was in super punch out.

You should check out game xplain as they have videos about him and actually find some pretty interesting stuff in his trailer.

He sounds like an interesting character to play as. He looks pretty powerful, I mean, he one hit K.O's Bowser, among others. But his recovery move doesn't look that great. And judging by his size, he's most likely a light-weight character like Kirby, Pikachu, or The Ice Climbers. So I'm sure they'll balance him out nicely.

No, see, I am the biggest fan here, I bought two copies of Brawl because the first didn't work, then had to learn on sideways Wiimote when I was forced to play on my Wii U. AND I skipped school once just to be in a tourney.

thelastrequim : i bought two copies of melee because one was lost. I am amazing at all 3 games. i know how to play almost every character and on every controller and i wish we had tourneys here,

I love how everyone is claiming that they're the biggest fans, even though they don't know anyone else.

thelastrequim : Your post is irrelevant.. But that's cool you got to go to a tourney. Utah never has any gaming tournaments... But it still has some really unique stuff, at least. By the way, the first two things you said (two copies and new controls/Wii U) don't really make much of a difference.

To everyone: You guys should really stop complaining about how you're the biggest Smash Bros. fans. None of us will be anything compared to those legendary TASers, whether or not they use tools.

Oh, and on topic, I am so psyched to play as Little Mac. Hopefully Giga Mac will be better than his Wii version. But, is there always going to be commentary during the fights?

thelastrequim : Nah, the commentary isn't going to be in the fights at all. They were just using the commentary to emphasize Doc Louis' role in Punch-out!! It would be extremely annoying if he actually talked in the game.

More questions:

Do you guys believe that Little Mac is replacing Captain Falcon? Lots of people do, but I personally don't. Captain Falcon was one of the original 12, and I'm 90% sure that all of the original 12 will be returning. They're practically the mascots of the Super Smash Bros. series, excluding Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

Do you think you'll use Little Mac a lot? I probably will. He's fast and he's strong, that's all that matters to me. Lots of my main characters have horrible recovery moves, but I can still dominate with them.

TheFadedWarrior : TheFadedWarrior : Well, my main character is Sheik, or to a lesser extent, Link, so fast is my main archetype. Captain Falcon, while not a character I like to play as, can not be replaced. Falcon has the size and strength over other fast characters, and his original character status has him safe. And if Mac is anywhere as good as in the Wii Punchout, I'm going to play him a lot. That Giga Mac looks cool though, and so does the star punch meter, if these are done right, Mac could possibly be not only the fastest, and strongest ground fighter, but also one of the most strategic plays. The only downside is the obvious one, his air game. Since he is a boxer, his lack of jumping and air skills are to be expected, but my air game is where I'm best at. If I do decide to use him, I'm going to have to train a lot on ground skills before I play versus with any one.

TheFadedWarrior : Doc louis would be a cool taunt though. Maybe doc louis' chocolate bar as a possible item. They already made a fairy in a bottle a healing item.

I may use little mac as he looks to be quite strong and fast.
He doesn't even have very much similarities to C.Falcon besides running fast and his repetitive punching move.
I'm still hoping for ike and lucas to return as i mained them along with toon link in  brawl.Also, hoping for Dr.Mario as i main him in melee.

Another reason I want a Wii U. I am really wanting this game to come out (or the 3ds) and with these new great characters, I need it. 

Barathemos : Seeingn as how I already have both, getting new systems is something I need not worry about.

I want to use Little Mac because of his star punch that is an instant knock out because it is not just his final smash, which will make him over powered in the Final Destination, which does not have any platforms to jump on.

TheFadedWarrior : I think he's a strong character. I thought he will come back as an assist trophy again oh well. I really liked his KO meter, when 100%..... BOOM! you launch the enemy. Giga Mac is pretty epic too. However his attacks in the air is really weak so I really have to be careful when i'm using him.

The problem with me and Little Mac: He definitely seems my type with his launch resistance, strong attacks, and great speed. On the other hand, I use aerial attacks a lot. I might just stick with Fox (like in every game so far...).
