I recommended one of my friends to check out the site but he said his anti virus was detecting malware on this site. Is that just his anti virus being stupid or is it something  on the site causing this? (also this is my first post! yay!)

It is a serious threat. Malware is kind of like spy ware, you can get a lot of trojans which can erase files, still info and hack your accounts. Your friend may not have known he or she had a virus. So avoid the site because anti virus things usually pick up spy ware, malware, or viruses for a reason.

I've been all over this place for quite awhile now and I've never run into anything malicious on here though one time a link in a post did send me somewhere I'd rather not have gone.  I have read posts of peoples anti-virus programs flagging the site for the ads I believe.  If I was you or him I'd tell my anti-virus to take a hike for a minute.

I have been on this site for about 2 years now and I haven't had a single problem. But I don't think it's a good idea to just ignore the potential threat. That's why I made this post. Oh and thank you for the help!

It's just his Anti-Virus. Some Anti-Viruses give false alerts over the Plugin. I think it has something to do with the way it's coded. But yes, anything put on the site by David is safe. He may be able to set Vizzed as a trusted site in the settings somehow, but I'm not the one to tell you how that works, as I've never had to. Also, some ads trigger that response from certain anti-viruses, but they won't harm your computer (can't promise they won't if you click them, just saying them popping up is not an issue).

Note that there are some ads that pop up that say "Play Now" and "Download". Those are not part of Vizzed, but merely third party ads, and I cannot vouch for their safety.

It's not the site in general, because this is a very safe site, well at least to me, if this site was a Malware site, I wouldn't even be here right now.

It's definitely the advertisements being shown. Anti-virus software is really good at detecting when an advertisement is malicious or otherwise harmful, so it will give out a warning. However, I'm not entirely sure about the plugin being labeled as a virus. I've heard that certain anti-virus programs will label any possibly damaging file, like a .exe or something like that, as a virus if it doesn't have enough credibility. Even some internet browsers, like Google Chrome, will occasionally label certain files, especially .exes, as malware. I've downloaded the plugin, and I can state with 100% accuracy that there's no issue with it whatsoever.
