IMO, I'd pick:
1. Nate Robinson - for his size, and how he can dunk well, AND be traded onto a different team almost every season and still be better than half of the NBA.
2. Reggie Miller - every three he shoots, almost always goes in, best three point shooter in the NBA if you ask me, and the only who I think could compare is Stephen Curry.
3. Kevin Durant - mostly because of his size, and how he can still cross over players and make his way to the hoop, Darantula is one of my favorite NBA players.

Hmm, I do not really watch basket ball as I am a football and baseball guy, but based on what I have seen on ESPN here is my top 3.

Larry Byrd: Very good player back in the day he could dominate the court
Dirk (plays for the Mavericks) he is really good, and is an offensive power house on the court
Reggie Miller- never seen somebody that can make a 3 point shot look so easy

Notables:
Magic Johnson and Air Jordan. Both of these two players belong in the top 5 the way they attacked the court's and could dominate a game.

1 Michael Jordan Probably the best NBA player there was at the time.
2 Larry Bird Great passer and good three point shooter
3 Magic Johnson Terrific passer and played every position at least once.

Jcool : Great pick with Magic Johnson. He played excellent on the court, even with the whole AIDS thing and how other people discriminated against him for it, like Isiah Thomas. He was superb when he played the PG position.

These are favorite players or best all time?

I cannot imagine... IMAGINE an all time three best players with Nate Robinson.  And Kevin Durant was incredible in college, he's great in the NBA but he's still young yet.  I'm a kid from the late 80s, early 90s and I saw some of last generations players as well as all the ones today.  I also follow the college kids into the NBA and that sways my opinion.

My all time list is as follows:

1.  Michael Jordan.  There's no way anyone is better than him.  He was the greatest all time ever, he could score, he played defense every now and then and while he isn't the nicest guy ever, he's a leader and a champion and I would build a team around him without any problem.

2.  Magic Johnson.  He's the greatest point guard of all time and he could pass and dribble better than almost anyone.  He had huge height and ran a team perfectly.  He could even score if need be and he averaged somewhere in the double digits for dimes and points.  The man is a great leader and would be make any squad better.

3.  Lebron James.  I'm not a fan of how he handled going to Miami from Cleveland and I don't care for the current attitude but we're watching history in the making.  After his career is over, you'll here Lebron vs. Kobe vs. Jordan the next sixty years of our lives.  He's athletic, he's long, he has great work ethic and he has never committed a foul in his career.  He's incredible, has talent, has the body, and he's history in the making.

I never saw some of the other guys like Wilt Chamberlain or Kevin McHale, and I saw Larry Bird and other guys play but my top three are listed above.  Think what you will.

Mine would have to be :

Stephen Curry : He has to be the best 3-point shooter in the league, and in the top 10 3-point shooters of all time. He made the Warriors a dynamic team and the Warriors would not be anything without Curry.
Isiah Thomas : One of the best guards to ever step foot on the court. He could crossover, and get through anybody, making the Pistons a playoffs team.
Michael Jordan : The greatest of all time. He competed when he had the flu, just for his team. He made one of the best dunks in the sport. He made a huge impact on the NBA.

The best nba players that I know are:
Wilt Chamberlain- For his 100 points game. It's amazing because the 3 point play is not present during that time.
Lebron James- His shot are awesome and the way he play in nba makes him the best player today
Kobe Bryant- Though he had an injury but his previous play are quite good to me.

#1: Michael Jordan. Can you really argue with that? He won a ton even with the competition he was up against.
#2: lebron James: he is also an amazing player who I don't like, but deserves credit.
#3: magic Johnson: amazing player, deserves this spot

How can the thread go this far without mentioning Bill Russell?  He won 5 league MVPs, won 11 championships in 13 years.  Probably the greatest defensive player and rebounder to ever play or ever will play.

1.  Bill Russell
2.  Michael Jordan
3.  Lebron James

This one is pretty hard, but here's my top 3.

3) Kareem Abdul-Jabaar: The greatest scorer the game has ever seen, Kareem netted almost 40K points in his amazing career, and he definitely deserves a spot among the top 10. I can't believe that nobody had him on the top 3.

2) Wilt Chamberlain: One of the most dominant big men of his time, this man outdid everybody. Considering how short the NBA players were back then, it's no surprise that he dominated the boards and averaged a huge number of points per game. I mean, he scored 100 points in a game that never officially ended. If that's not legendary, I don't know what is.

1) Michael Jordan: Come on. If you haven't heard of Michael Jordan, then you clearly don't watch basketball. The greatest 2 guard on the game, Michael could do it all. Score a clutch basket. Dish a clutch assist. Throw down superstar dunks. Win six championships in 7 years. Not many players had the skill and repertoire that Michael had, and that's why I put him as number one.

There are many other greats like Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, and Karl Malone that I could've listed, but these are the top 3 I'm going with. Some of the top 3's listed so far are pretty questionable.
