The Sonic team here is why. Sonic is fast and has his powerful spin attack. Tails is agenius and has his attacks. Knuckles is tough, hits hard and is very powerful. Amy Rose has an attack just like Sonic does but she brings her trusty hard hitting hammer to the table. I think the Sonic team since it has more powerful characters would win.

Dude, totally Mario! Give him the right power-ups, and my vote is for him! He can kill almost anything, just by jumping on it! I mean, there's all sorts of powerups; from flying, shooting fireballs, becoming a penguin, to even shooting ice at enemies!

Oh man, Oh man... I can't choose.. I'll go with both. Team Sonic because of Sonic's Super Forms, plus his Light Speed Attack, and with the Hyper Sonic Form, he can murder literally anything (except for time limits lol). Tails can use the machine he has, the Cyclone, and considering the amount of upgrades he got in Sonic Adventure 2, well yeah, he'd be OP along with Sonic. Knuckles can literally smash onto a wall, and knock out enemies with his Hyper Form. With Team Sonic's full force attack used in Sonic Heroes, he can destroy almost enemy he faces.
Now, with Team Mario, Mario's got the ability to grow in size using the Mega Mushroom (NSMB) and the Super Mushroom (why bother saying where this came from). He also has the ability to shoot out fireballs from his hands, and with his Final Smash in Super Smash Brothers Brawl, he could take out many foes. Luigi can do everything that Mario can do, but with an extra downgrade, AND upgrade. He can jump higher, and wiggle his feet to make him stay in the air faster, meaning he can get to higher places easier. He can also use, just like Mario, a final smash from Super Smash Brothers Brawl. This can screw many foes he faces, and since his final smash makes sure his foes get into awkward situations, he's as strong as Mario with a small disadvantage, his speed. Yoshi can absorb enemies like Kirby, which is from another franchise, and he can use their powers as much as he'd like. He can also fly, and like Luigi, wiggle his feet to stay on the air longer. His Final Smash can also stun many foes, as he can stun enemies just by touching them.
