I’m back after the most horrifying events of my life (and forgive me if I don’t want to talk about it in detail to much). It seriously feels like a month has gone by and it feels like forever since I was last here. Thanks to Sean (jigsaw) for keeping in contact with my wife and you guys giving updates to both sides, I really appreciate it. I am stuck in a wheelchair due to muscle damage I received in my legs but it is only temporary, my muscles have been healing pretty well but their just too sore for me to walk on my legs. My arms and hands are sore, pretty much every part of my body seems to be sore but thank God there is no permanent damage anywhere. And as you can see, I’m out earlier than they originally expected.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who showed concern in this situation. Sean told me wife of all the feedback and while I was helpless in my hospital bed, my wife told me of the kind words everyone had to say and it made me cry. It made me realize just how much vizzed board meant to me and how much I mean to a lot of people on the vizzed board community and that is something I truly missed when I was away. Again, I want to say thanks for the support everyone had, especially to Geeogree, his response to the situation gave me a whole new respect for him. I also really appreciate seeing Bigbob and MichaelVash come around. And of course I really appreciate everyone else’s concern as well and I really appreciate the prayers.

Basically I was coming home from my parent’s house with more stuff to sell on ebay for my Dad and I was hit by a drunk driver who swerved into my lane. Thankfully neither of us were killed and I was fortunate enough that his passenger side hit my passenger side and that we had no passengers. If my wife had come with me, she would’ve been killed for sure since the passenger side was completely destroyed. I’m also thankful that the drunk driver wasn’t driving very fast and we hit each other in such a way that the impact wasn’t as bad as a true 60 on 60 MPH head on collision, but it was still bad. I lost a lot of blood and don’t remember a lot during the accident but it’s not something I feel comfortable talking about right now, it’s still too fresh in my head and I’ve lost a lot of money because of this due to the stuff that was destroyed in the car and my car itself, etc. I hope my accident can be used as a lesson though to always wear seatbelts (we both were and there’s no way we would’ve lived if we hadn’t) and to never drink and drive.

During the situation, there were times when I wasn’t sure I was going to live or not. Being in such a situation like this is so scary that you don’t know what will happen so I simply trusted in the lord and prayed and knew that if it was my time, I was ready but I also felt like I had so many unfinished businesses left on this planet. I thought about my wife and how important she is to me and how I’d hate to have her see my death and to be left alone without me. I also thought about the possible people out there who hate me and I don’t want to leave this planet being hated, so from here on out, I’m going to make peace with anyone who dislikes me and apologize for anything I may have done wrong to cause anyone to hate me. I feel like I’ve been given a 2nd chance at life and I’m not going to ruin it. Another thing I thought about was things I never finished such as games, my websites, etc – so this week I’m going to finish up the things I’ve wanted to do with Vizzed Board and I will be making threads about what I plan to do in the Development Forum (of course the doctor said to take it easy and relax so I won’t be on a whole lot this week).

Again, thanks for everyone’s support.

Just saw this at AR.

It's great to hear from you David and that things are coming through. I know from experience myself that car wrecks can be one of the worst experiences you'll ever come across. I think if anything the wreck itself and whatnot is the last thing you need to be thinking about now. I just remember I was mentallly stressed and sick out of my mind after the wreck I was in, so I can only recommend trying to think of other things even if it's sitting at the edge of your mind, if at all possible.

It sounds like you're coming through better than expected though so that's really great to hear and I think I speak for everyone here in that keeping us informed with this and everything will be very appreciated. My best wishes to you and your family for a fast recovery.

Thanks Xeo, I really appreciate it and great to see you around. So I guess you're one of the few who can probably somewhat relate to my situation. Definitely something I want to keep my mind off of for a while.

Yeah, my situation wasn't nearly as extreme as yours, though the car I was in was still totalled and whatnot. Nobody was really hurt except for my friend driving who broke his wrist, but the bad thing is ever since then (2-3) years ago the whiplash has effected my upper neck and body, so I've been seeing chiropractors off and on ever since. I get headaches, stiff necks, etc, much easier than I used too. The chiropractic care helps, but I don't want to do that for the rest of my life.

I started going to Lifetime Fitness at my school again though. I'm pretty sure working out and keeping active helps, strengthening those muscles and everything.

So hopefully you have a good recovery and nothing remains permanently.

Thank god you're alright! It's truly amazing that you're alright. All of us were worrying and praying for you. I can understand that you were worrying and praying. Believe me, I've had a life threatening experience too. It's bad and you don't want to leave your loved ones behind.

As for your muscles, you should probably take a hot bath. The heat will relax your muscles.

It's good that you won't be on much, seeing your condition. It'd probably be best to relax, watch some TV or movies, or play some games. Those things really make it easier to cope with things going on; I know they helped me.

Xeo: before the accident I've made monthly trips to the chiropractor and I consider myself to be in pretty good shape so those 2 things I think made the accident a little more bearable but still bad of course. Sounds like your accident really messed up your alignment, I guess I'll know how bad it messed up mine when I go to the chiropractor next

gtwalq: Thanks

StaticTorch: I consider myself as having a pretty strong will to live

marioisawesome: Yeah and just to think how preventable this stuff is

treecko: Can't wait until I'm fully healed and can walk, I've been missing the ability to go running

Rasenganfan2: Yeah, stuff like this really makes you appreciate the people in your life.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

You're back! And you're not mentally retarded from the crash too! That's a BIG

relief on me man. Also happy to read from your quote that you will soon be able walk and

move too. So, yeah welcome back, nothing's changed really. And many members were

pretty worried on your behalf too.

But some people, they just never learn, eh? Drunk driving when it has been told billions

upon billions of times to mostly everyone!! And what happens? They go do that crap

anyway, squandering and risking their chances of dying, but they are too drunk to know

such thing anyway and think "Yeah, I think I should be good, 'What Could Possibly

Go Wrong??'
"

Thankfully, at least you have seemed to learn the important factor of seat

belts and seeing how you experienced it, you'd know how great that is.

(Don't worry, I'm not actually nagging at you, it's just what happens when I ramble.)

So before I start to ramble, I'll just say this: It's wonderful to hear that you're still

a-breathin'!

Glad to have you back, Dave. You're one of few lucky people I hear about surviving an accident with DD. I suppose it helped a little that neither of you were driving too fast.

So, any news on the guy that hit you, or are the police not giving you that info? I can imagine he's not feeling to happy right now having to deal with what's coming to him.

sdutop: Thanks for the welcome back, I agree with what you say, very wise

Solehite: Thanks, as far as I know, nothing is permanent

Cyro Xero: I don't know a whole alot about his situation but I have no sympathy for him, it's very selfish to drink and drive knowing that you're putting other lives in danger but I am glad that he is in good condition, probably better than me (ironic how drunk driver victims always get worst injuries than the drunk driver, oh well).

Drunk drivers' bodies are limp and relaxed because of the alcohol so when they hit something hard their muscles act as a cushion to prevent bones from breaking and taking damage. Whereas the sober person naturally tenses up in response to an imminent impact and breaks in half when it does happen. That's why so many victims end up getting killed. It kills me realizing this when something like that happens. Believe me, I feel no sympathy for the dumb bastard either. At least he'll get what coming to him.
