Well it is pretty hard to say which one I played first, I can give it a guess from what I remember best. The first real racing game I remember owning and playing was Mario Kart 64. Oh boy was that a good racing game!

If you count the two player mini game in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as a racing game then it was my first from what I recall.

My first memories of racing games are of Hang-on and Out-Run for the SMS.  I had probably tried some others for older systems like colecovision and Atari but when the graphics get that old I can't enjoy them.  I did play Hang-On for hours when I was younger cuz it was one of the games that came with my SMS, it was a dual cart with Hang-On and Safari Hunter.

My first racing game was Hot Wheels turbo racing for PlayStation. It's was a good game as a kid and I usually go with power pipes. I was never able to defeat the twinmill challenge and it haunted me for years.
