Well it is pretty hard to say which one I played first, I can give it a guess from what I remember best. The first real racing game I remember owning and playing was Mario Kart 64. Oh boy was that a good racing game!

If you count the two player mini game in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as a racing game then it was my first from what I recall.

My first memories of racing games are of Hang-on and Out-Run for the SMS.  I had probably tried some others for older systems like colecovision and Atari but when the graphics get that old I can't enjoy them.  I did play Hang-On for hours when I was younger cuz it was one of the games that came with my SMS, it was a dual cart with Hang-On and Safari Hunter.

That game only ever worked my family's old turn of the millennium desktop lol. My uncles got that computer now. He likes to mess around with electronics, wonder what state its in.
