NintendoFanKimmy:
Legend in the Making
Chapter Thirteen: Catching Breath
NintendoFanKimmy
hurriedly ran up the steps of the posh eatery she had been invited to by
gorgeous village resident, Clifton Smith, for dinner. After a series of huffs
and puffs, Kimmy finally located the booth in which her date was waiting. She
let out a huge sigh of relief and collapsed on the booth side facing that of
Clifton. “I hope I am not late…” Then, Smith shook his head. “No worries. You
are just on time, Kimmy!” Reassured, Kimmy’s slight panting and wheezing came
to a halt, and she was relaxed once again. “Well, that is a tremendous relief…
It sure is a fancy place you have invited me to, Clifton, but I do not think I
would be able to pay for all of this in the end-” She was interrupted by
Smith’s calm hush. “No need to worry, Kimmy, I will handle everything. Do you
remember what I said earlier? ‘My treat’?” NintendoFanKimmy did, in fact,
recall him telling her that. “Oh, yeah. Well, if you say so, I guess. And thank
you!” The blond cracked a smile causing his pearly, white teeth to shine just
like it did in the movies. “You’re welcome.” After picking out their meals and
drinks, a polite, fancy-looking waiter with a gelled-up French moustache
arrived at their table. “Good evening, young ones, and welcome to Restaurant
Blitz. How may I help you today?” Clifton Smith smiled. “Ladies first.” Then,
Kimmy went ahead and ordered. “I’ll have a small, medium-rare steak, thank you,
and a small Caesar salad on the side, please, with no dressings of any sort.
Also, I’ll have any fizzy drink with that, preferably orange Crush.” The waiter
quickly wrote down the notes on his sketchpad. “Certainly.” Then, he turned to
Clifton. “And what will you be having, gentleman?” Clifton then relayed his
order to the waiter, who then walked away telling them their wait would not be
too long. He was not joking. Within a couple of minutes’ time, he returned with
numerous platters set out for the two, including two large chocolate milkshakes
with whipped cream and hot fudge on top. NintendoFanKimmy and Clifton sat there
open-mouthed staring at them in awe. The waiter smiled. “The milkshakes are on
the house. Enjoy now, you two! Bon appétit!” Then, he plopped a cherry on top
of each milkshake and walked away. “Well,” Kimmy laughed. “That was an
unexpected surprise.” Clifton snickered. “Yeah. Anyway, I’m starving! Let’s
eat!” The two of them began to eat everything that was set out for them, and by
the time they were done, there was nothing left on the plates except for
crumbs. “That was satisfying.” commented Clifton. Afterwards, he paid the bill.
“Thank you, Clifton,” said NintendoFanKimmy. “I really appreciate all of this….
Bye, I guess.” Then, Clifton smiled and waved goodbye. “See you around, Kimmy!”
That was a good thing to say after a first dinner out. Kimmy was reassured that
they had gotten off on the right foot. Then, upon arriving at her dormitory,
she collapsed on the fluffy carpet, screamed “Woo!”, and made a fist; she had
not lost her tomboyish attitude. This so-called rough ‘n’ tough impression she
had been trying to pull off ever since she was little was more commonly viewed
by others as a “twelve-year-old-sadly-attempting-to-look-menacing” sort of
attitude. She was happily venturing the
wonder world that resided within her mind until it came down to her that she
had completely skipped her element bending lessons. “Oh, no! The trainer is
going to kill me!” exaggerated NintendoFanKimmy, bolting straight up from her
position on the fluffy carpet. “Ah, what do I do, what do I do? If I don’t get
my act together soon, I’m going to-” Then, she was interrupted by an annoyed
DenzGamer135 from a dormitory across the hall shouting, “Hey, keep it down in
there, please! I need to sleep!” Then, Kimmy stopped and sighed. “What have I
gotten myself into? … Or out of?” Then, she tried not to think about it and
went to sleep. “I’ll apologize tomorrow,” she mumbled; half of her mouth buried
in her pillow. “I’m sure he’ll forgive me. He seemed like a pretty nice guy.
After all, it was my first lesson.” Then, she completely drifted off and
finally let go of her worries for the time being.
