I've just been thinking recently about Legend of Korra and the gAang from The Last Air bender. So Zuko is somehow still alive, but sadly Toph is dead. I'm trying to figure out how she, the youngest of the group, is already deceased and Zuko is still up and doing work. Anyone have a reason/theory how Toph died?(probably some fatal accident or something...) And how Zuko is still alive?

The guy in question is not Zuko. He's Iroh, the grandson of Zuko. Generations have passed since TLA, so that's why Katara is an incredibly old woman in LOK.

Well, I was referring to retired fire lord Zuko who fought with Aang and the gang, not Iroh haha. But epicamazing, that is a good theory about Toph, never really thought about that. It saddens me to think about it...

Ohh, Zuko is alive according to the nick.com game and not mentioned by the TV show, so no wonder I thought you had confused the two.

I did some research and LOK is around 171 ASC and TLA is around 103 ASC so that's nearly a 60 year difference.

So, old age could have easily taken Toph and Aang if they'd been in rough fights whereas Katara could heal herself more easily (possibly more completely).

Zuko seems to now be a diplomat (which doesn't require much physical dexterity and Katara could do it). He was also Fire Lord, so he could have remained in his castle directing versus dealing with criminals like Yakone (which turned out badly).

That's a good point you got there, especially knowing Toph, she always liked fighting

Or....maybe...but this is a long shot, maybe her husband had something to do with her death? It could be why Lin doesn't talk about, or even mention him. If one doesn't talk about their parent/s, maybe it's because they did something bad, hmm? Just a thought though.

Actually, she wasn't the youngest. When I look at it now, Aang and Toph were both the same age when you look through the seasons. The both started at 12 and ended in the last episodes at 15. Katara was a little less than 3 years older than them and ended at 17 in the last few episodes.

If the age difference was much more pronounced, I would be surprised by the deaths, but since they were very close in age it's not as surprising. Zuko ended TLA at 19, so I'm not quite sure what we can take from that.

Okay, so this thread belongs in the cartoon thread, however while I'm here why not give my thoughts on the matter?

Well, we really can't know for sure what happened to her (Yet.) but many things are possible, sickness, disease, assassination, life lost in a battle or old age. But really the list just goes on and on, many of these things are more than possible. And while having theories is fun and all I would rather wait until we find out for sure what happened to all of these characters, however that simply might just happen. I don't know though, I'm feeling this thread won't really get anywhere at this point.
