I looked around and didn't find a thread on the new anime "Space Dandy" so I thought I'd make one. The title basically says it all: What're your thoughts on Space Dandy thus far? I myself think it's pretty good, I think it has nice action & comedy. One thing I really like about it is the fact that it premiered in English on Toonami, that's an awesome thing for a dub watcher like me. Well those are just some of my thoughts on it.

I think it's pretty awful, and is part of the reason I don't watch Toonami anymore. (The other part of why I don't is because all of the shows they DO show are things I have already seen in their entirety or watch on my own time when the episodes come out.)

To sum up my thoughts on Space Dandy though, this early into its run... (I've seen every dubbed episode so far on an anime streaming site, because I'm trying to give it a chance)

I just don't like it. It isn't funny, the story isn't compelling, there is barely any thing of value to the show, and even the fanservice is extremely weak. The only half interesting character is the titular protagonist, and even he's a complete waste of animation.

I don't know. I'm not impressed at all yet, and at this point I don't think I will become impressed at any point. I expected more. I'm not even getting a half watchable anime here.

I think most people's problem with Space Dandy is that they set their expectations to high, that and they probably expected it to be more serious and story driven. Hearing that it comes from the makers of like Cowboy Bebop & Fullmetal Alchemist it's kinda understandable that people would've expected really highly of it and would've expected it to be different than what it is. I myself didn't really set expectations for it, and when I watched it I went in knowing little about it. Maybe that's why I like it, I don't know.

I guess I'm more dissapointed that the creators behind it would make a show like this.
I can recognize the similar style and scope of Bebop in Dandy, and it made it harder to watch.

I have Space Dandy when it was First shown on Toonami  I hope it  will become a classic Just like Cowboy bebop .

Space Dandy is hilarious. I love the crew of the Aloha (especially Meow). It would be awesome if there were new shows accessible not only on Television but on the web as well. Also, what is your favorite episode so far? I personally liked the ramen one.  

Kcreed : You know, I haven't really thought about which episode is my favorite. I'm usually the kind of guy that has trouble picking favorites, so I'm not quite sure at the moment which episode I like the most.
