I remember being a 7 year old and getting into pokemon. I fondly
remember the first 6 pokemon toys i got from my dad (they would go on to
start a huge collection that has since been diminished). The pokemon
were pikachu (of course), minun (w/o a plusle :'C), phanpy, an invisible
latias, shiftry, and another pokemon whose name i couldn't recall. I
started collecting cards too (another hobby i haven't proceeded with in
years )
and i decided to learn more about these creatures called pokemon. I was
astounded to learn that there were officially 386 and more to come,
some already introduced in the past! A year later I received pokemon
pearl. I learned the names of most of the 491 pokemon at the time. But
some names of lesser respected pokemon like smeargle and farfetch'd
still escaped me. There was another name too, I would see this name and
realize it was THAT pokemon, but would only forget it again. Upon the
release of HG and SS I was sure I knew all 494 of them except one
name... it was that pokemon with a blue body, it looked just as it's
typing of dragon flying suggested. It had large red wings, and it's
other pre-forms were called bagon and shellgon. Yep, all that time I
forgot what the heck was a salamence. In my defense salamence sounds
pretty complicated, but i have no problem with it now, even among the
current 721! How was that for a history lesson? Well now, after
neglecting the epic hoenn pseudo-legendary all this time I'd say it's
time to help a brother out!

In an attempt to make up for my past I shall put 3 other ways to say salamence.

There, now with this thread I couldn't possibly forget my old buddy.
It's
main ability is Intimidate. If you don't know what intimidate is, god
help you. It's hidden ability is Moxie, instead of lowering an opponents
attack once, you raise yours twice everytime you KO a foe! Cool eh? Now for stats.
Hp 95: Pretty great Hp, actually it's kinda awesome. (patronizing salamence)
Attack SWEET MOTHER 3!!! It's 135!
Defense 80: As you'd expect when it has such high attack it's defense would be cut down, but it's still not that bad!
Sp Attack 110: Also amazing! How could I ignore you for so loooong!?
Sp Defense 80: Same as regular defense.
Speed 100: Yayz! Hard hits fast and quick!

Now
for the moves you will end up with over time. There aren't any moves
only learned by not evolving right away, so this should be easy.
You
start with Rage, a move that increases attack everytime you're hit
afterward, so it's good to use right away. The move itself inflicts 20
damage and 100 accuracy.
Lvl. 5 Bite: A dark type move with 60 damage 100 accuracy it may cause the opponent to flinch.
Lvl. 10 Leer: Really? Lowers defense. Whoopty freaking doo.
Lvl. 16 Headbutt: Now we got 2 moves that cause flinching! 70 damage and 100 accuracy.
Lvl. 20 Focus Energy: Usually you learn this move earlier, but whatevs. It increased your critical hit ratio.
Lvl.
25... EMBER? EMBER!?!?!?!?: Lemme elaborate, 40 damage, 100 accuraccy,
may cause a burn. Every fire type ever knows it right away. WHY LEARN IT
RIGHT BEFORE YOUR FIRST EVOLUTION!?!? I now know Salamence's weak
point, learning.
Now a quick story. Every Bagon's dream is to one day
fly. The pokedex states that they even jump off cliffs trying to fly!
Sad... but at level 30 it goes inside a cocoon and learns protect if it
evolves right away. Then later at 50 it hatches from a Shelgon to the
winged dragon Salamence. So to anyone right now who feels like
everything in their life is pretty useless and their dreams will never
come true, just stay positive. Hold on to that glimmer of hope as you
grow and one day that spark will shine on as a star. And that star will
grant your wish.
Lvl. 32 Dragon Breath: Oh so now we're getting into
the moves! Great! 60x1.5 damage and 100 accuracy, along with a chance of
paralyzing!
Lvl. 37 Zen Headbutt: A psychic move. 80 damage and 90 accuracy, just like Headbutt it may cause flinches.
Lvl.
43 Scary Face: My opinion on one of the worst moves ever. Just hear
this... you waste a turn, for a chance to go first the next turn? We
don't even KNOW how fast the opponent is, it could still go first!
Lvl.
50 is when Shelgon becomes Salamence. You may have thought that the
whole dreams coming true thing was very cheesy, but wanna know how
strong this wish was? The move it learns if it evolves right away... is
Fly. This is the only instance EVER where a pokemon learns an HM move
without an HM! That there is beautiful! And now that it's flying it gets
the 90x1.5 damage bonus too! And 95 accuracy, not only can it get you
where you need to go, it also makes a big impact on your opposers! All
hail Salamence, the mighty flyer!
Lvl. 53 Crunch: A level up to bite, 80 damage and 100 accuracy, it lowers defense instead of flinching.
Lvl. 61 Dragon Claw: A great compliment to high attack, 80x1.5 damage and 100 accuracy.
Lvl. 70 Double Edge: A whopping 120 damage and 100 accuracy, the only downside is chronic recoil.
Lvl.
80 The final move it learns is pretty tactical for such a big brute.
Dragon Tail does 60x1.5 damage and 90 accuracy. It also forces the
opponent to switch it's pokemon. Or if you're not in a battle of wits
you knock away wild pokemon .

There are alot of TM's this guy learns... so let's take some good ones and start our learning!
TM19 Roost: you could always use a self supply of extra health amiright?
TM26
Earthquake: I forgot what type Flygon was but if he is part flying and
learns earthquake, Salamence isn't the only flying dude who makes
earthquakes. 100 damage and 100 accuracy!
TM35 Flamethrower: For multiple hits. 90 damage and 100 accuracy, may burn.
TM38 Fire Blast: For POWER. 110 damage and 85 accuracy, may burn.
TM68 Giga Impact: 150 FREAKIN POWER and 100 accuracy, rest the next turn.
TM71 Stone Edge: For those pesky ice types. 100 damage, 80 accuracy, high crit ratio.

Now
starting from now on my recommendations will be even more favorable to
the nit-picky ones. We will recommend the nature and characteristics. I
dunno if I did this in earlier reviews, but let's give it a shot! I
recommend the nature Lonely that increases attack but lowers defense. Also a characteristic involving loves fighting or somethin. Ev's go to Attack and Sp Attack. The rest to Speed. Now finally, one more thing. I keep mentioning this, but don't forget the ideal of Salamence. He was made to be a loser, with highly far fetched (lol references) dreams that seemed impossible. But he hung on to them, and one day became everything he wanted to be. For everyone reading this, don't forget to live life like a Salamence. Sorry I never picked up on you big buddy.

Thnx old friend :J Btw are you a bigger version of my toy? Cause that furniture looks tiny next to you.

Mecha Leo : "This is the only instance EVER where a pokemon learns an HM move without an HM"

OBJECTION!

The seel line gets dive.
The wailmer line does also.
Huntail/Gorebys do too.
And relica,th, manaphy and phione do too.

The goldeen line gets waterfall.

Rayquaza gets fly as well.

And technically, volbeat learns flash, which was an HM move.

As the review, pretty good
