There's been a lot of new cars coming out with 30+ mpg lately. The family I often share gets almost 27 mpg but doesn't cross 30+. Which leads me to my question, what miles per gallon does your family car or your car get?

I don't get MPGs.  I get RPGs...ba dum tsk!

In seriousness now, the family van averages about 20-30 miles per gallon each trip.  Mother is frequently watching the meter so she can learn how to get the most efficient milage per trip.  I'm not driving right now though...WAAAAAHHHH!!!!

I found out this weekend, that on the interstate, if I use cruise control to stay at 65mph, my mileage is actually between 41 and 42 mpg. I was amazed!  I've never seen it that high before, so I wish all my trips could be as efficient.

65 mph seems to be the sweet spot though. Hitting 70 and above seems to drop the mileage to between 36 and 38 mpg.

Normally though, I am in the stop and go traffic of the inner city, meaning my mileage ranges between 24 and 28 mpg.  Bummer.
