   What I normally do is go through the game without EV training, but then breed some Pokémon with good IVs, and then EV train those to try to get them to their full potential. An EV trained Pokémon can be so much better than one without being properly trained. Especially starter Pokémon, who seem to get tons of speed EVs at the beginning of the game.

Barathemos : I didn't know about EVs until Black and White. I didn't go back to focus on them in other games, but I did in X and Y.
