My mom hates snakes because she said it was a serpent who tricked mankind and all but I just think snakes are like any other animal in the eco system . What are ur thoughts ? 

I don't know if just because Satan took the form of a serpent to decieve Eve means that all snakes are evil.  But some snake species, like the anaconda, reproduce in a huge mating ball, basically a giant orgy, that could be a look into their character.

fightorace : That COULD be a reason .... and I don't think that snakes should be damned because Satan took there form ... I mean ... Should humans be damned because Adam believed Satan ?.. or Eve rather ?  No . 

Mr. Zed : Not to get all religious or technical on you but that isthe exact reason humans are damned, because Eve was deceived by Satan in serpent form, well according to the Bible anyway.  Had Eve never been deceived then we would still be living in the garden of eden where sin does not exist and humanity would not be damned nor need saving by Jesus.

I personally think they are good and evil depending on how you treat them.
If you are invading their territory they are going by instinct to defend it and it thinks you are the invader so it is actually you being for evil in a way of intruding their area.
Because of this people hate snakes because of snake attacks while they are defending. But on the other hand if you are in your house or something and it randomly attacks it is evil and you have to defend so that could go either way in thoughts.
But in my opinion I think they are good unless they decide to attack me.

I think snakes are good and evil depending on how you treat them.. of course if you scare or frighten them they are going to try and attack you. I went to the zoo one time and got to pet A HUGE andaconda snake I believe.. he just sat there while all the people were petting him and touching him.. I think they are just part of life and it does depend on how they grew up and if they were treated wrong.. I like snakes. :p

It pretty much depends, but I do not believe snakes are evil at all. There are some poisonous snakes, but I do not think they are evil just as long as they are treated correctly. If you harm any snake, then it may attack too. But I do not think snakes are evil. Actually I think they can be friendly, must be because my music teacher once brought her pet snake to school, and it did nothing when I pet it.

AriaAngelDream : I agree. If a snake strikes you it would be no different from when a human strikes you if it is attacked. Or it feels threatened. 

Snakes really aren't evil. I think most people who think snakes are evil, it's because they are not educated in the subject. Snakes prefer to stay away from humans. Snakes only attack humans if they feel threatened by their presence, or in some rare cases, because they are starving and have nothing else to eat, although this barely happens. If you see a snake preparing to attack you, the best thing to do is slowly step back until it lowers it's gaze at you. Snakes are very protective about their territory, and only attack when they feel that you are trespassing and want to harm them. (The same goes for spider, except the eating part.)
I mean, why would they attack a creature that is about 5-10 bigger than them for no reason? It's a fight they can't win.

Eh. Not all snakes are evil. They just want to survive.

Snakes are animals and one religion has them as evil.  That doesn't mean they're evil.  Hindu suggests cows are important and we eat them on bread with ketchup and lettuce and onion.  Different religions treat animals differently.

Snakes are important because they play a huge role in controlling vermin populations.  Rats are carriers of diseases that kill humans.  Snakes eat rats and mice and decrease the carriers of those diseases.  Snakes, in effect, have a positive impact on humanity through population control.  Snakes also kill larger animals that can destroy crops and food sources.

As far as I'm concerned, most snake bites come from people trying to capture or kill snakes.  Leave them alone, they leave you alone.  They help us.

Well despite the fact that the Snake AKA the voice of Satan told Adam & Eve to eat the forbidden fruit after God specifically told them not... but that was just one evil snake..... but anyhow they are dangerous no doubt about it but I don't think that they are evil!!

Everything can be considered evil, and nothing can be considered evil... Depending on whichever perspective you choose. The idea of evil is something people have created to which they believe for their own purposes. Honestly, snakes are just animals who's intent isn't to bring malice. They just want to survive, and most people negatively depict them otherwise out of fear (perhaps because they look intimidating). It's in the snakes nature to be intimidating, it's true nature is that of a hunter. Many religions depict snakes as gods,demons, whatever. Thing is they're just snakes. Neutral beings like everything else in the world.

You problem is with your belief in evil. There is no such thing as 'evil'. It's a label that you, and the rest of society thinks is real. If you THINK it's real, then it must be real in your eyes. Humans generally succumb into such beliefs generally because it's what has been taught.

I think the garden of Eden story is just a story, so no, I don't think snakes are cursed or evil, they are just animals like we are.

No living creature is inherently "evil". I think that "evil" is a manmade construct that does not appear in nature. Even horrible people aren't born "evil". It's the way that (s)he was brought up that makes the biggest difference.

Having said that, snakes are just about as "evil" as a kitten or puppy. They're dangerous, so that's what you need to be worried about.

Yeah, they re commonly symbolic of evil, but they are not inherently evil creatures. I may not like snakes because they are creepy and strong reptiles, but would I consider them evil? Of course not, they are animals just like we are, the only difference being that they slither and lay eggs. They may be dangerous and willing to do anything to survive, but does that make them evil? Are they any different from us in that sense? No. 

So I would not consider them to be evil animals, some people may see them like that and have their own beliefs and thoughts about this animal, and they are entitled to believe what they want, but I wouldn't consider them evil. Interesting how this turned into a religion based topic....

I don't think they are evil really, are all humans evil because Hitler was more or less the living entity of evil?
I think they are often associated based on the ways in which they kill more so poison then constriction and the manor in which they move are associated with death and deceit respectively.
