Hey! Sorry I'm late for a festive poem, Christmas was four days ago, but I now feel like I can open my heart to bring you guys this poem on my opinion of the merry holiday, Christmas. AHEM! Sorry, I need cough drops!...........Okay, back from Rite Aid. Anyways....

Christmas...a time to bake fruit cake,
Or giving to people from the heart, what you can make.
This is no time to hold a grudge,
Why not a little joy, just a nudge?

It's CHRISTMAS!

We celebrate the holy Lord's birthday,
Why golly, it's on Christmas day!
Christmas isn't a time of getting,
This is something I'll be betting.

Being all cozy next to the fireplace with nog,
Or...going to watch The Desolation of Smaug.
The tree there is as beautiful as a star,
It's ornaments can shine from afar.

Christmas, a time to be with your beloved family,
You can't have much joy unless you celebrate happily.
Christmas is the giving, not the getting of present,
Whoever does not live by this law, to me, is a sad peasant.

People tell of jolly old St. Nick,
You wonder what present for you he will pick.
Unfortunately it's Christ what matters,
not these silly presents by old Nick.

Interesting poem man, I think you made some really good rhymes in your poem as well though which add to its uniqueness and awesomeness. I could never be able to write anything like this man, this is really great, keep up the awesome work man! I liked what you said in the first part before you started writing....need some cough drops...back from rite aid XD, nevertheless, great work and I think this an awesome poem to commemorate Christmas time and the holidays. Nice job!
