It is better to tell others than to keep it for yourself.

So my childhood trauma happened when I was 8 year old.
I was playing in the backyard as usually, but then I seen my grandma lying on the ground.
I tried to wake her up because I though sh fell asleep. Then I gone to my grandpa and told him this.
He said that I should go and play with the PC for a bit. That night every member of my family came to our house and took the body away, crying. Even my aunt from Australia came home that day.

Thank you for reading this. And I will read anybody's story that appears here.

Well, it's maybe not a trauma but I still remember it.

I don't know when it happened, but I think a year ago.
I went to the super market (it was very close from my home so I could walk to there) and when I went back home I saw a cat I knew.
He was hiding under a car and looked pretty nervous.
Suddenly a car came and the cat scared, and ran over the street but the car came.
So the car rode over the cat.
God thanks the only thing that happened was that the car only rode over his tail so there was some hair gone, but the cat was lying there and I was freaking scared. I knew the owner from the cat so I went to her house but she wasn't there, so I ran to my house and told my mum to call an animal ambulance. In the meanwhile I stayed there with other people who saw it. When the ambulance came, they checked out if the cat was still alive, but sadly it wasn't and they put him in bag and took it with them.
Later the owner called and talked a bit with me and my mum about it, and that's it.
Now every time I see a cat on the street I think of this.

So that is my story, maybe no childhood story but it's something important to me.

juuldude : I understand you, just by reading this I felt bad for the cat. I know how you feel and that is called empathy. I had such an experience when going home from school, and I suddenly see a dog ran over by a car. It was not a great sight because the dog was in 2 parts but I don't want to go in details.

Thanks. I was lucky the cat only died because he was old and he was rolled around by the car but if the car did ride the cat in two parts... I wouldn't be so happy. Do you have any other grandma's or grandpa's?
I only have one grandma (my grandpa's died before I was born and one grandma died in 2002, so she has seen me and my little sister but not my little brother as baby's) so if she would die I would be very sad

Do I have a childhood trauma? Sure, I usually refer to it as my childhood! (just kidding... sort of)
To avoid get too personal I'll just put a minor trauma.

I
was like six years old when this happened. My brothers and our friends
were all outside playing hide-and-seek+tag. It was my turn to seek and I
had just finished counting. I scanned the front yard, nobody was in
sight. I looked toward the back yard and saw someone trying to hide from
me. They knew I'd seen them and began to run, so I gave chase. I ran
about half of the length of the house when I tripped. Normally tripping
was no big deal, we got hurt left and right in those days. but this time
my foot had hit a piece of cement that had been sticking out of the
sidewalk. This increased the speed/power of my fall. I face planted  the
ground and slid for at least half a foot. That's about all I remember
about that actual event. My next memory ,however, was I nearly 45% of my
face being a scabby mess. I had gotten a few stitches and probably
cried a river.

I suppose that would fall under traumatizing. Huh, haven't told that story in awhile. It does feel good to let it out....

Well, when I was about five, my dad bought me an original Super Mario World cartridge. I thought I could instantly play it without a Super Nintendo, don't ask, so I tried to activate it by tearing off the stickers. Thank god it wasn't a complete set.

But now the serious one.....well, it's best if I keep this one a secret.

kidcop : Ah, that's nasty. There was once in my primary school somebody broke his collarbone and didn't come to school for at least two or three weaks, and once a girl passed out, and this is not the same like getting stitches but I just remembered it. Do you have scars now?

PixelBrick : I don't understand what you mean with 'it wasn't a complete set'. Do you mean otherwise the whole set would be scratched or something? Also you didn't tell your experience about it, and that's what a trauma is about: Still remembering that experience about something worse.

juuldude : It was about 8 years ago, so must scars have gone away. I do however have a slightly noticeable scar near my eyebrow and there's even a spot on my eye brow where hair doesn't even grow!

Really? I have a scar on my elbow because I once tripped and I put my arms for me which broke my fall but I wounded my elbow. It doesn't look very worse but it looks like my skin there is all bubbly and bumpy (I don't know another way to describe it).

Well.. I would of been about 12 or 14 at the time but we were all at a Christmas party at my grandmas house and we were opening presents and having a wonderful time. Then suddenly my grandma tripped over a box and broke her arm I believe... I thought she was going to die but she didn't it was one of the most scariest things that happened in my childhood.. I watched them put her on the ambulance bed and watched the ambulance leave.. I'm glad there wasn't actually any real damage and that she lived.

Um...about 3 or 4 ears ago...for the first time I saw my aunty dying...I was so sad. As I have never had that before. It was in Jan I remember I was at home..it was snowing...the day she died it was snowing....it may had been sad but, I saw her face with a smile on it...she looked so peaceful....she died of cancer...she doesn't smoke but, she worked with people who did smoke. That's how she caught it. Having to look up at the sky with the snow falling. I said *Shes in a better place now....and its wonderful to see such a special weather for her...which is snow...*

Oh… Where do I begin? So many bad things have happened to me. When I was 9 my family was kicked out of our apartment. We lived with some friends for about a week but then we were forced to move into a family shelter. Then, when I was 11, my dad had passed away. When I was 13, my mom and I were kicked out of the first shelter and we had to struggle to get into a new one and then a few months later, I was placed in foster care.

Yes I have a very sad story in my life. It actually occurred when a few years ago. I was a junior in college and just found  out, what many had speculated since I was 4  years old I was Autistic. It made sense to me because it explained my narrow interests and why I was always shy. It also explained why I had problems socializing. I tried to tell some my friends but they called me a freak and that I was not human so they left. Then I started to get really bad headaches it was later determined that I had a brain tumor, but it wasn't cancer. My tumor started to rapidly grow and it got to were it was pushing up against my Frontal Lobe. Thus, my behavior changed. I was talking to a girl and we were on the verge of dating but due to me erratic behavior that relationship fizzled. It was my thought though because due to how I was treated due to my Autism when I made it known I did not tell many people about the tumor. I eventually had the tumor removed 4 years ago. I also rededicated my life back to Christ. I also got over my shame of my Autism. Now I'm an autism advocate and civil rights activists for Autistics.

tornadocam : I might not have such problems, but I'm emphatic. Your story is incredible and it must be hard for you. I would have suicided if something like that happened to me, but you are strong.
Make yourself known that even if you have autism, you still can accomplish incredible things. I have problems socializing so I try drawing, making remixes and doing sports to make myself known. People accept anybody who can amaze them, and YOU are amazing.

Sadly I had something terrible happen to me when I was 9.

Since I was born my family lived in this IBM apartment complex and it was a really nice place.  But when I turned 8 ownership had changed and a lot of inner city families were allowed in and crime was rampant.  My friends were being shot and chased.

For me it was a sunny afternoon I was playing at the playground with my best friend when a group of 3 male teenagers came and ordered us on the ground and were about to take our cloths off to do some pretty awful stuff to us.  Thankfully an adult came around the corner and saw this happening and was able to scare the boys away and help my friend and I out.  Later the boys were arrested.

After my 10th birthday my family decided to move to the country where I still live around to this day.

LCRain : Those guys sound like pedophiles. If that adult would not been around, the situation could been worse. Sounds like you got no physical injury, but metally it is much harder to procces what happened. I still don't know how can people live peacefully, knowing that everybody can have armed ballistic weapons.
