I don't think that we need nearly as many laws as we have out there. I would probably remove literally 100 laws if I could and I still would not have brought America back to the days when men were free and were not restrained by our modern, scosialistic, the government responsible for you, you can't take care of yourself ideas.

I would remove ObamaCare.

Then I would make an amendment to the constitution that does not allow the government to create a system like social security, or Government Health care. Such things can be run by private organizations, who would run it a lot better then Obama's website which you can't even sign up for. We finished World War II in about four years, but apparenttly four years isn't enough time to get a website up and running, but hey, Obama will still tax you even though they don't know how much money your really going to need to be spent on. Now the healthy 55 year old will be paying a tax for Obama care that he won't ever really need, but the 60 year old diabetic who used to drink 3 - 4 soft drinks a day will benefit greatly from the money of the healthy guy. When you're responsible for your own health, you take it seriously. You don't want to pay more bills, so you're going to take care of yourself. But now, you're paying money to mantain the health of people who just don't care.

I would change quite a few laws. I feel like Sword Legion had some points in his post. I don't support Obama Care either and I feel like times like this is when there should be a comity of actual people in the USA and it is randomized once a year so that many can have a chance to incorporate their thoughts.

If I could make a law I would make abortion illegal. I do not think it is right to murder a baby before it is born. It did not do anything wrong, and there are tons of families waiting to adopt if you cannot care for it.

Sword legion : Agreed, I hate ObamaCare.

If I could change one law I would give people back the right to bear arms because they are trying to take away our rights. They say " 3D Printing guns can give anyone access to guns, but when they made the second amendment they did not specify so they cannot just go back and change it.

 tgags123:

I would also make Abortion Illegal because it is wrong to kill a helpless baby.

I would make it so that we actually have privacy when we are talking on the Phone, Text messaging, Surfing the web, or Even writing on this Forum right now. The NSA is taking away the freedom of speech because they can access any text or any thing that you said in the past even if it's been erased or deleted or even destroyed.

Yeah, freedom of speech is being taken away. It's unfortunate. Why does the government think that they can invade our privacy and listen in on our conversations? They'll probably abuse that power sooner or later. Acctually they probably already are.

Our right to bear arms is our last defense of an evil government.

Sword legion : Yeah I was watching the news today and even powerful leaders are questioning the NSA' s surveillance. Then Mr. Obama came and tried to clear things up. They are abusing it because when have you ever seen proof of the NSA' s surveillance stopping terrorism?
I haven't and the leaders who were questioning Obama have not either.
Yeah and if they take our rights to bear arms they can beat and treat us like dogs without us being able to retaliate.

Thanks Sword Legion for the Warm Welcome

knockout575 : Phone tapping is not taking away our freedom of speech. Freedom of speech has nothing to do with privacy. The freedom of speech is simply the right to communicate your opinions and ideas to anyone willing to listen to them. You simply can't be arrested for stating your opinions and ideas. Tapping phone conversations does not invade that right. Granted, I don't think our phone conversations should be tapped, so don't get me wrong. The purpose of this post is just to let you know that you are incorrect on claiming it takes away Freedom of Speech.

As far as "Obamacare", it's kind of embarrassing that we are about the only developed nation that doesn't have a form of socialized medicine, even though I don't really like the current proposed bill. Insurance is for something that could possibly happen. However, everyone on this planet gets sick and dies, many countries have noticed this phenomenon and added healthcare to a national service. Sure, not everyone should be "entitled" to healthcare, but it's a nice thing to have, and we can never just have nice things. The reason why you didn't see people go absolutely NUTS in the UK over the implementation of it's socialized health system, is because the conservatives in the UK are less adept at using scare tactics against their citizens to subvert their political opponents. You're also not going to easily take this healthcare away from the people in the UK or any other developed country.

It just bothers me that the same people that are worried about Obamacare couldn't give a crap about the extraordinary amount of funds that are being funneled into our "Defense budget". They're OK with funding the killing of foreigners(which costs a LOT of money), but god forbid someone receive healthcare... THAT is why the world loves the United States(sarcasm).

There have also been some incorrect things said here. We still have the right to bear arms, and there have currently been no attempts to remove that from the constitution. We also still have freedom of speech.

As far as abortion, I think abortion before the 20 week mark of a fetus' development should be allowed.

There are some business regulations that I think should go(especially on small business owners), and I think different ones need to be implemented, though that's too long of a list to put here. Any hopes of returning to true capitalism in the future are far gone(I don't see much of a difference in an economy in which production and labor is controlled by a few corporations, than in one where production and labor is controlled by the state/government)

Also legalize marijuana so we can tax it, create revenue, boost the economy, and stop putting nonviolent "criminals" in government cages.

Note: before you "dislike" this post, I would ask that you actually respond to this post and type out what you actually disagree with, thanks.

It would either be the anti-abortion law like tgags said, or a law to fire everyone in government right now, and let the people elect new, less corrupt representatives. That might change the NSA, give peoples gun rights back, and repeal other unconstitutional laws and acts.

I would do my best to remove all the red tape that prevents law enforcement from doing there jobs. This would prevent a lot of the problems with crime in the U.S today. Also I would create a law that made U.S citizen's own and keep current on at least one firearm.

Well I'd add a law that says " All countries of the world must lower trade rate and that sutff so things would be cheaper and easier to come buy " ... Less stealing and less crime. I think we'd all benifit from this.

First, I would make it law that all schools are treated fairly when it comes to funding. I would also make abortion illeagal and If it were still going on when I changed the laws, I would right away stop the whole Stop and Frisk thing here.

I would change the law which makes it treason to put a stamp with the queen's head on it treason because it is just plain stupid, that said it passed 5 minutes of a 3 hour of a law lesson so I guess it does have a use.

I would remove Obama Care.
Obama Care is not what it seems. I hate it that millions of people have lost insurances, it gets the government in our health care system, and if you do not buy insurance you will get fined by the IRS. I think Obama care is a bad idea its going to cost jobs and drain the economy. It will also force people to find a new doctors that may not know about their condition. I do think health care needs to be reformed but not by a government take over.

How laws are made, how they are enforced and how in the end they are obeyed are very different things.

I understand the wish-fulfillment part of the question and if I made any laws, even three there would be plenty of people hanging from the lamp posts but I doubt I would be the perfect persons to ask how any laws should be made. I guess I leave it at that.

And as for Obama care. We have something plenty better here. Free health care for all without any forced insurance payments.

Yeah... I'm about to piss people off. Fair warning.

I would create a law that made it illegal to pass ANY law that uses Religion as it's justification. This nation was created with NO state religion. It is secular. Stop trying to change that and force YOUR beliefs on others.

Oh... and if you are a "tax exempt" religious organization and you dabble in politics AT ALL, you lose your status and must pay back taxes from when the infraction first occurred. So all those preachers that literally stand at the pulpit and tell people how to vote? Yep, either that stops or churches start paying taxes. That is actually an existing law, I would just make it enforced. And that person that violated it? Felony fraud charges.

And the people talking about Obamacare... go actually read things from reputable sources... like the document itself, instead of believing whatever your obviously misinformed sources are telling you (hint: wikipedia is NOT a reputable source, neither is a talk radio host like O'Reilly). Every thing you've stated has been proven false. I would change it though, I would take out all the stuff the Republicans put in (like the Mandate) and model it on laws existing in other countries that have public health care, like France, who have one of the best systems in the world. At the very least, I would put the public option back in.

I would also make it a law that the Constitution should be studied in school and that all members of Congress should be required to memorize it. Perhaps there would be less ignorance about what things like Freedom of Speech are and our government would not behave like children because they would have a clear understanding of their job responsibilities.

Can I just make ignorance illegal? I think that would be too difficult.

Let's see... and Education reform.... the following classes will be mandatory in the 7-12 curriculum

-History(not just US, but World history, because contrary to public opinion, the US does not exist in a vacuum)
-Geography(so you can actually KNOW where capitals and countries are)
-Sex Ed/Health (because all teens deserve to know actual, scientific facts... at least if you want teen pregnancy rates to keep falling)
-Logic/Debate (we need it)
-A foreign language (Almost every other country in the world requires it, and once again, we are not alone in the world)
-Computer Science (technology is the way of the future, so learn how it works)
-Keyboarding (with hope, the horrible typing we see here will vanish. Can combine with Comp Sci)
- Math (duh... all the way to Calculus)
- Science (again, duh... basic physics, chemistry and biology required, deeper specializations and AP classes as electives)
- Home Economics (because everyone can benefit from knowing those skills and learning to function independently)
- Music/Art (just a semester each, but it helps to gain such exposure)
- Physical education (all the way though, not just two years... because let's face it, teens are lazy.)
- Government (already mentioned this, but looking at the whole constitution, not just the Bill of Rights)
- Economics (not just theory, but practical stuff as well, like taxes, balancing checkbooks, making a budget, etc)
- English (With way stricter rules on writing and grammar, like they used to be)
- Special Ed (learn facts about learning disabilities, promotes tolerance and understanding, can probably be put in with the health and sex ed class)

Some schools already have similar curriculum ideas, but I think this needs to go national. School is supposed to give us the tools to survive in the adult world and become more enlightened individuals... but as education budgets have been cut year after year we lose more and more. That is why I had seventh graders that could barely write a sentence, let alone a paragraph. This needs to change.
