Do you think Nintendo is running out of ideas for pokemon I am really not sure because some of their original ones were not that creative as well like Muk so what do you guys think?

I've always wanted to say this. I don't really like the new generation to be frank. I know many will disagree with me, but the Pokemon are ugly, X and Y aren't that good, they're not classic, and I pretty much only play Retro games. Except for the occasional exceptions. (Super Smash Bros Brawl, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

Well I'm a huge Pokémon fan no matter what but some of these new Pokémon have been looking a bit weird. The only thing that upsets me is that they actually made a some kind of key ring Pokémon. The fossil Pokémon did catch my eye though. Also the setting being in France also caught my eye as well.

Overall it does seem that Pokémon is running out of ideas here and there but I'll still try to catch them all even if I don't really like new Pokémon designs.

Yeah, I like pokemon as well and I think the new gen of pokemon and the games X and Y are pretty good. I know it was a pretty big step from prior games, but I think the graphics are great, the story is good, some of the new pokemon are good, others are kind of ugly and unoriginal I will say. But for the most part I think the games are pretty good all around. There are several new features that I think come in very handy, and also make it easier to level up and progress throughout the game.


 It does seem like they may be running out of ideas, but until then there are a lot of possibilities, and I will continue to enjoy the games until the very end XD

Nah. Nintendo will never fail their Pokemon fan. Because Pokemon X and Y are awesome.

Yes they have been coming up with some weird Pokemon because of this.

Now that i think about it, it seems so to me too. I am  a huge fan of pokemon games and pokemon x and y are not that good. The Pokemons are pretty ugly and the story is also not that nice. I wish a new person with more awesome ideas would go ti Nintendo and make the next version of pokemon better.

I'm not really sure or not if Pokemon is running out of ideas.. It seems like it with some Pokemon but others I still like. Some Pokemon like Trevenant and Meowstic are still pretty cool. I also like Aegislash.. Though some like Klefki really make me wonder what they were thinking. Though every gen has had it's misfits... Gen six does seem like it has some more Pokemon I wouldn't really want to catch. At least they brought back some of the older Pokemon along with them. So you don't need to even use the new Pokemon if you don't want. I have to admit though. I do really like the new starters.

I stopped playing pokemon after they released Pokemon Black  and Pokemon White and then Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 . I wish they could go back to colors because Pokemon X and Pokemon Y is really unoriginal so I bet the new ones coming out in the future would be Like Pokemon 3672824HFBR and Pokemon 574836383YRT...

I'm sorry if that offended you its just you cant just call yourself a fan if you only like Gen 1 and 2 I mean you have to like it all... and the key ring Pokémon's adorable! Also No I mean think about it... it would be hard but no Gen yet has just terrible Pokémon and if you are one of those people Pokémon is meant for younger audiences not us... so the Pokémon are made for littler people! I think in a way they really are running out of fresh material for pokemon. I mean it seems they have already used everything and exhausted their limits for possible pokemon. But then again it is Nintendo and they will try to keep pokemon going on forever so I am sure they will come up with something. Some pokemon from x and y look ridiculous, but from the most part,I would say that a lot of them look far better than most of the pokemon in black and white. They were just getting desperate at that point. But I think the pokemon in X and Y are pretty cool. But they should seriously know when its time to stop, they are kind of stretching it a bit, I can already foresee that the pokemon are only going to get more lame the more pokemon games they continue to make. Good thread question by the way. 

I think that the new Pokémon designs are kind of split down the middle. As in, half of the Pokémon are cool (Tyrantrum, Greninja), and half of them are stupid (Klefki, Carbink). I know every generation has terrible Pokémon, but Generation VI has a bit more than usual. Also, before you call me a genwunner, I would like to clarify that I like the new Pokémon, but they could have been better. As with ideas, if they can come up with a Mexican luchadore bird Pokémon (Hawlucha) and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Chipmunk (Chesnaught), who knows what else they can come up with. I would like to see more of those and less generic rabbits and dogs.

The Artist of Pokemon was in an Artist's Block... So the other members of the pokemon team made the pokemon!

Maybe they are, since the pattern was at least 100 Pokémon introduced in each Gen UNTIL X and Y came out. They probably don't need 1000 Pokémon right?

I also think they're missing ideas. While some Pokémon stay cool and interesting, some are just repeats from other Pokémon. I don't have the Black and White or X and Y games, but from what I say some just look horrible. In my opinion the ideas stopped around gen. 4-5.

I think they are. I like the most of the Pokemon in X and Y but this time around they released little Pokemon this generation. But they are excused. 718 (721 if you count the three unreleased Pokemon) Pokemon is a lot. Might of took them 17 years but 721 characters in anything is an achievement even if some are ugly, uncreative or indirect clones to others. People complain about them using inanimate objects but it must get harder and harder to create Pokemon based only on animals, plants and mythical whatevers. So I just hope for two things. That scientists discover many things that were impossible to imagine and that Game Freak doesn't exceed their limits to the point everything is ugly, uncreative or indirect clones to others.

I think they are differently running out of ideas. A lot of the old Pokémon were pretty original now they are just taking random objects and making them Pokémon plus the new mega evolutions aren't very creative they are too much like the Digimon style of evolving

I don't think they're running out of ideas, they're probably just getting a little more creative. Like Goomy... Goomy is kinda ugly, but also really cute. He's a really SMALL BLOB, that's cute...
