Video Game Wish Lists
I've added a new feature to the site: Wishlist. This is a Video Game Room exclusive feature and it allows you to add games to your own Wishlist.

How to use it:
Go to the Video Game Room (link can be found at the top left of every page) and find a game. From the game's page, toward the top of the page right below the game's title you'll see a link that says 'Add to Wishlist'; click that and simply fill out the form. Your profile will than keep track of every game you would like to one day own and you'll be able to see the wishlists of other users as well (the link to a user's wishlist can be found at the top right of their profile).

Benefits of this feature:
-Helps you keep track of all the games you'd like to own someday
-If someone has a game in their Game Collection for sale that you add to your Wishlist, it'll notify that user that you want to own a game that they want to sell
-Likewise, if you add a game to your Wishlist and someone adds that same game to their Game Collection and also marks it as for sale, you'll be notified
-This feature can also help users find users to trade and borrow games with

Win a Game that you've added to your Wishlist!
As a way to promote this feature and the Game Collection feature (and as a way to do something fun for Christmas), I'm giving away $100 worth of games as Christmas presents. So basically I will pick a random user who has added at least 1 game to their Wishlist and pick a random game from their list and buy them that game and send it to them as a Christmas gift (and they'll receive it before Christmas).

Rules:
1. You must have at least 1 game on your Wishlist. The more games you add, the better your chances are of winning but anything past 16 games wont increase your chances (but you're still encouraged to add more than 16 games if you have more than 16 games that you want).
2. Add every game that you physically own to your Game Collection. The more games you have in your game collection the better your chances are of winning but anything past 64 games wont increase your chances (but you're still encouraged to add more than 64 games if you really own more than 64 games). You can add games to your game collection either from the game pages of the Video Game Room or from the Batch Game Adder page)

Tip:
My budget is $100 and I'll continue to give out games until my budget runs out. The games I give out will not exceed $60. I'll pick a random qualifying game from your list if you get selected. If the first person who wins gets a $60 gift, the 2nd person I pick would have to have a gift on their list worth $40 or less, otherwise I'll skip that person and move on to the next random person. I'll keep giving out gifts until my budget runs out so be sure to have cheap games on your Wishlist as well to increase your chances of winning something.


Offer ends on December 11th and that's also when the winners will be revealed.

I just knew you had to implement a wish list!  Hey, I put my finger on it a month ago!  So exciting David! Thank you!  I especially LOVE how you implemented the notifications for selling and buying... you are a GENIUS!

Are you going to use the ebay urls to buy the games for the winners?

Singelli : Yeah I was waiting for a good opportunity to finish that feature. I'll expand the Wishlist with more features in the future

Mistress : I'll buy the game from either Amazon.com or Ebay.com, which ever has the game cheaper. I will be basing the prices off the Price Guide feature on vizzed.

will there be a max limit to what you will spend for this?

mrkoolnerd : As mentioned in my post, my total budget is $100 and the most I'm willing to pay for a gift is $60.

What if you picked a winner but you didn't have their address to send it to them. Will you message them to tell you their address or will you skip them?

StealStealer : If they never give me their address than I'm not sure what I'd end up doing, most likely just find someone else to give a gift to of equal value instead.

What if the game is only a digital download?

Would you be able to add the new mario party, legend of zelda and super mario 3d world to the vgr. Anyway i definitely want to win this. I need kirbys air ride.

wikipedia99 : I can purchase digital downloads if there's digital codes for the game available to be purchased on ebay or amazon. If you only want a digital copy of a game, be sure to specify that on the wishlist submission page.

This is awesome David! Really cool that you are doing something like this. Although this is a prime situation where I wish steam games could be added to your wishlist because there are always cheap games on steam that I want to play.

Davideo7 : Since PC games aren't available on the wishlist or VGR, is there a way to add a game but specify it for PC *I don't have any consoles anymore*. Like add a game for ps3 but as a note put For PC ? Sorry if you've already answered this.
