I'm in the middle of making a pokemon fire red ROM hack and I've done most stuff (Changing the map, starters, sprites ETC) But I'm still stuck on just one thing : Text editing. I'm trying my best and I know I'm writing out the commands for the text correctly but, it just never seems to show up on the actual game. I've tried tons of text editors but none of them seem to work for me. I want to know how you do text editing just so I know if I'm doing it right or not.

If you are still in need of help you could try asking Earth Warrior or simply going to his thread and seeing if he has any useful information in there that can help you out. Another possibility is asking anyone for help or going on google and doing a crazy amount of research until you master it without even doing it or something along those lines. It may work out for you and I wish I could personally offer some more advice and help here but it's not a subject I'm all too familiar with in almost every last respect and again, I apologize for that.

There's something called Youtube! (Just kidding) You need to download some tools for it. Probably should download a pack of hacking with the text editor. But it works on certain games. Usually you just click to change it or something. Be sure to download any kind of tool. I am pretty sure they all work But some of them doesn't work on certain games, that may be your problem.

I assume you're using Advanced Text? If not it's no doubt the best way to edit the the text. However if you're attempting to make a script with the text you'll be able to find that with a quick search on Google or YouTube instead of me having to explain how to code it in.
