The title and descr This has been bugging me for a while. I have yet to find my interest on what career I would like to pursue, so I thought maybe hearing stories about other member's inspiration about their chosen careers would help me decide mine. I'm currently a 2nd year Computer Science student, turning 3rd year next school year 2014 - 2015.
I have to admit it isn't what I've wanted to pursue the most before though. I wanted to go to a conservatory and formally study music, unfortunately, my whole family (except dad) was completely against it, saying being a musician isn't a very profitable job unless you are lucky enough. I didn't easily give up and it ended up as an argument among me, my mom and grandpa. After some discussions, they finally let me study it, with the condition that I'll have to also take a different course aside from music that they could approve of. Since I have many things that I like to do or accomplish in my life, I agreed with the condition and told them my other desired courses to take up namely: 1. Computer Science/Computer Engineering 2. Psychologist 3. Full time Veterinarian (who goes around the world to research about and cure animals) etc. But those three are my most desired courses after music. They chose the first ones, so here I am taking up Comp Sci. I'm not studying it half-heartedly though, I've always been interested in programming and developing and I'm very happy with my current course. Music can wait, lol, for now I wanna enjoy life as a computer science student and thinking of myself as a future software developer, though it would be really cool to work as a programmer for a company that's focusing on the music industry such as Yamaha. It's like hitting two birds with one stone. I could get to enjoy two things that I really like to do. *ahem* so what inspired me... it's my hobbies and desires in life, with the influence of those who are close to me. Some examples would be dad who's always been travelling around the world for his job (and he brings me with him once in awhile whenever I'm not busy), he also introduced music to me and taught me some basic music lessons when I was small, my sister who's a programmer (I always watch her do her job/ assignments when she was still in college and it got me interested), and also I grew up seeing and interacting with different kinds of animals and I've liked them ever since I was a kid. Maybe your hobbies have been quietly giving you hints on what your subconscious thinks is the best for you or what you really want to become. Zoologist be my career . I picked it because I like animals . Think they are neat . When I learnt a few facts about some of them I had a GREAT interest start to develop in me . I watched " Animal Planet's The Most .. Extreme " Alot and the things I saw were amazing . And I also watch Steve Erwin ( R. I P . ) on his show and it seemed like something I'd like to do . Plus I think animals can help a lot with human issues and illnesses . Second career would be acting ... I could do anything I wanted and loved it . Nuff said Second career would be acting ... I could do anything I wanted and loved it . Nuff said |

I worked at my current position at a YMCA for the past few years. I originally joined because I wanted to get in on youth sports. I coached a high school soccer team the past three years and I love the kids and young athletes who are trying to improve themselves. Kids these days can use positive role models and mentors to help them learn their skills, their abilities, and the role they play in society. Kids are led by tv, media, and their friends who are all searching for where they belong. They hear profanity on casual tv, they see the comments on youtube full of hate and anger, they see conflict on reality tv and think that's how life should be, and it makes me sad. These kids are adrift with no one showing them the way. That's why I am doing the work I do. If I can help one kid make a good decision when it matters, I'll have done something good with my life. I spend the time and effort on them because they need to know they can do better than they think. Kids are led by tv, media, and their friends who are all searching for where they belong. I decided I wanted to do something with the law. This was something that inspired me since I saw Liar Liar, a movie with Jim Carrey. I know this sounds crazy, but it really intrigued me! So I went to college and started the first general social year. In the first year we had a class with about 20 students, all with the same interest. Some would become social workers, others social cultural workers, ... At the end of the year we had to pass around a piece of paper. On that paper the other students had to write there suggestion of specialisation for you. They ALL wrote human resource manager on it. That was the moment I decided I should go in that direction. As a result, I work for a social organisation that employs cleaning ladies. At the moment I have +/- 45 cleaning ladies working for me at around 300 clients. For me it was my past that made me choose my career, I had grown up being in group homes and seeing a lot of the kids struggling with many things, especially with the law, Their probation officers weren't much help or support for them, and they ended up breaching frequently, So watching these youth struggle, really made me think about my life and what I could do to help these kids, and these adolescents, So that is what made me decide to go into Criminal Justice, I am currently taking my Bachelors in the Arts of Criminal Justice to become a Youth Probation officer. Hopefully one day I will be able to influence these youth to make the changes in their lives for the better. It is really cool to see people with these stories about how they knew what they wanted to do since they were young teens, and some have these specific things that inspired them to go into their field of study. I am not one of those people. When I was little, I really wanted to work with animals. Not as a vet, but work with variety of animals. Especially exotic. Marine animals were my favorite. I wanted to be an orca or dolphin trainer. But somewhere down the line, things changed. Honestly, I would still LOVE to do those things. How could you dread going to work if you were going to go play with an orca or dolphins, or care for tigers, lemurs, hawks, monkeys, etc? This does play into my story a little later, but I will move on for now. My freshman year in high school, I joined the forensics team, having NO idea what it was. It really got me into acting. So for years, I wanted to act. I had delusions of being on television. Then I finally realized that unless you just wanted to be on crappy reality TV, it is always about where you live and, more importantly, who you know. After I realized that show business is no longer a place where people are discovered, I wised up. After high school, I wasn't sure what to do. I wanted to act, so I got involved with the theatre department. I became enthralled in the theatre world. So I decided that I wanted to do something involved with it. I thought that being a director would be a great experience. So I decided to be a theatre/communications teacher. When I was about a year away from getting a teaching degree in communications and theatre, my past interest caught up to me. I always continued to study the animal kingdom. I found that I loved when science topics were brought up. I loved chemistry as well. So I decided to add a couple more years onto college to get a teaching field in Biology as well. So in the end, I might not be a stage actor, I don't get to go scuba diving, and I don't get to regularly interact with orca/dolphins or other exotic creatures. But I get to be involved in the theatre world everyday. If I have a science class, I get to be nerdy and talk about endless number of topics that are fun for me to talk about, and get paid for it. It isn't exactly what I had planned when I was growing up, but it is not a bad way to go It is really cool to see people with these stories about how they knew what they wanted to do since they were young teens, and some have these specific things that inspired them to go into their field of study. I got into Computing and IT because I found computers way better than my peers at school. The IT lab was one of the few places I was truly safe from the bullying and it just went from there really.
I'm now doing a Bachelor of Science in Computing and IT and I still think computers are better than people. I'm now doing a Bachelor of Science in Computing and IT and I still think computers are better than people. |

I have really enjoyed cooking so eventually I would like to maybe take some culinary classes and get into a culinary career, my mother inspired me. I have also taken quite an interest in nursing! I just love the thought of helping people and my aunt who passed away was a nurse as well, she inspired me! I have known a lot of people who have taken this career and they enjoy it!

i never chose a career because all of my option either didn't exist or i wasn't interested in anything. the truth is as working during high school and some college year it turn out i didn't want to have contact with people because people are just strange and unloyal. not all of course just most... let just say we have all sins. so i found ?a career for myself that involve no working and big money, i wanted a job or something i can make a good living? without the 5 days a week 8 hours because that just not reasonable. i feel like half your life your in school other half your working where does the fun come? so i picked a career in investment/business but the root to all business is sale, ?now day you can start your own business less then 1,000 good luck . now anyone can be successful without school i know i did it but it did cost me a few 1,000 to understand how the world work and now im an entrepreneur / business owner/ investor require me to work 1 day a week for 4 hours and im done LOL and earn an income on of 3-4k a month i'm still new but growing i just got towait a few month let it collect until i can do more i started with 16,000 which i borrowed from the father the truth is as working during high school and some college year it turn out i didn't want to have contact with people because people are just strange and unloyal. not all of course just most... let just say we have all sins. so i found ?a career for myself that involve no working and big money, i wanted a job or something i can make a good living? without the 5 days a week 8 hours because that just not reasonable. i feel like half your life your in school other half your working where does the fun come? so i picked a career in investment/business but the root to all business is sale, ?now day you can start your own business less then 1,000 good luck . now anyone can be successful without school i know i did it but it did cost me a few 1,000 to understand how the world work and now im an entrepreneur / business owner/ investor require me to work 1 day a week for 4 hours and im done LOL and earn an income on of 3-4k a month i'm still new but growing i just got towait a few month let it collect until i can do more i started with 16,000 which i borrowed from the father |

First of all, I am a huge sports fan, I love everything there is to love about sports. Then, during freshman year of high school, I went with my school to a college tour of St. John’s and I found that they had a Sport Management program, and I fell in love with the idea of that as a career. Four years have passed, and I’m in the program now. I want to get a Front Office job with a sports team.

I have done a lot in the culinary track and I am working on taking some more classes my inspirations are more gong to the Law enforcement and I also have been wanting to become a nurse. I have many dreams and I think that out of these 3 tracks I will pick one of them.. I am still doing online schooling for regular senior stuff eventually I am going to take collage classes.. I have been inspired to be a nurse by my aunt who passed away a couple of months ago she was a nurse and she amazed me and I miss her so very much. The law enforcement inspirations just came from a lot of TV shows and just the regular do gooders in the world. The reason I love cooking so much is because it's just one of those things I enjoy doing because of my mom. I hope you can eventually find out what you want to do! Oh were shall I begin. I have always been into weather since I was very young. What got me into it was when I was 3 years old I saw a lightning bolt strike my backyard and I thought it was cool. Since then I have been into weather. When it came time for me to start college I took a lot of Earth Science Classes. Earning my Associates in Natural Science and my Bachelors in Biology. I am also a trained weather spotter and wanna be tornado chaser. I hope to go back and finish the few hours I need to be certified to do weather. My other career as an emerging Civil rights activists for those on the Autism spectrum started about 5 years ago. It was 5 years ago that It was confirmed what many thought I had since age 4 I had Autism. At first I was ashamed of my Autism I did not want to talk about it, did not want to admit it. In 2011 I realized I was steal loved by God thus I got back in Church and rededicated my life to Christ. In 2012 I started blogging. Since then I earned my Masters in Student Life and Development. I know write a few articles on Autism and I am an active blogger about Autism. I have always been into weather since I was very young. I am still unemployed at the moment, but the job centre sent me on a 5 week work experience placement at a reptile store. Idealistically I would like to work either on/fixing computers or in retail, but I was really good at working with animals and really enjoyed it. I have never been so passionate and enthusiastic about a job in my life. I used to long to be there on my days off it was so freaking awesome handling the snakes and lizards and it has encouraged me to look for some rare work looking after reptiles I would definitely do it again. |

I first started as a journalist because I just loved doing it during college. Unfortunately, I failed after 2 years of efforts. While I was looking for another job, I started reading the many authors I heard people talking about (Mises, Bastiat, Rand), who all inspired me to change my career around and fight for liberty and individual rights. I am now interning in the domain and am very happy about it |

Well I have two careers. First, I'm a blogger/podcaster. Started doing that just by chance, sorta. Back before the internet was a huge thing I used to write and publish a lot of zines. The last one I did I worked on with my ex-wife. After that ended I gave up on writing to focus on binge drinking for a few years. Then one day I decided it was time to get a PC. I started posting on a horror movie forum and the next thing I knew they asked me to be a mod for them. When that ended, I thought what the heck, I'll start my own site. And I did. End of story. As for my other career, I'm a security guard at a night club. I like working security. It's easy and the pay is not half bad for just standing around and telling people what to do.
