You know its weird...the Pokemon games have been out for so long, and the games keep going forever, the Pokemon and the Types actually have somewhat of a history, they have evolved over time,so much that some types are actually quite different than what they were originally planned to be like, good example...fire types, the fire type Pokemon have gone through many stages, and they have all...technically been good through every gen,but hey i am just here to fill in the gaps,so lets take a look at the fire types and there progression through history, this is Type overview

Introduction
.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Now the fire types are VERY similar to the electric types,why...,because they are known for there high special attack, and for there special attacks moves, and to keep it going, they are also known for there speed prime example...

Charmander

Yeah we all know this guy, every single kid in the world picked this Pokemon,(except For me i was a bit more logical than my other friends, and i saw that the only reasonable choice was bulbasaur) and every one loved it,they loved it more than pikachu, and to be fair,it was a good Pokemon, even though i dislike it,while it is good, possibly great in the right hands,it has flaws, but hey what Pokemon does not have flaws, the problem with this Pokemon is its health and defense, its bad,but once again to be fair....its really this Pokemon's only MAJOR problem, really every other problem i have with it is just nitpicks, and charmander basically some's up what the fire type Pokemon are and about, powerful attacks with very low defense.

Gen 1
...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The fire types had a pretty decent start, unlike some Pokemon types, but they were oh so very few and rare, these are the original fire types

Charmander
Vulpix
Growlithe
Ponyta
Magmar
Flareon
Moltres

Alright lets have a quick little look at these guys, charmander is most likely the best non legendary Pokemon of gen 1,it has great Power and great speed, its just lacking in defense, vulpix and Growlithe are pretty funny Pokemon when you think about it,Nintailes is just a passive and defensive version of Growlithe, and Growlithe is an extreme aggro aggressive version of Ninetails, its weird but they just..work together, resonate in the simplest of terms

Maka & Soul: Lets go soul-

Relinquish: NO,you are not becoming a running gag, Go piss off fight some weird demon creature but go.

Anyway,Ponyta and flareon are most likely the worst of the fire types in this gen but Ponyta gets better,as for flareon...well that guy just blows,Magmar is effective, but not as effective as the others, and moltres is obviously the best fire type of gen 1,these Pokemon are for the most part good-great,its just one bad apple that ruins it...Flareon

Now for the fire type moves of gen 1

Ember
Fire blast
Fire punch
fire spin
Flamethrower

These are all good moves, they have decent PP,good-great damage, and alot of them just sound like Jutsu out of naruto

Overall the fire types had a great start in gen 1,lets see how they fair in gen 2

Gen 2
...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The fire types had a good near great start in gen 1,so lets see how they stack up now

'Cyndaquil
Slugma
Houndoor
Magby
Entei
Ho-Oh

Like most of the types in gen 2,this type got...a bit dumbed down, granted this is not to bad,but its still a bit of a lacking follow up,Cyndaquil is good, but in my opinion it does not seem like a proper Follow up to charizard, slugma is SO weak,Houndoor is a bit lacking but hey its still good, magby is weak, but it is nice to have magmar handed right over to you,Entei and Ho-Oh are extremely overpowered,so...have fun XD

Okay not that good but still effective, lets see how the moves fair

Flame wheel
Sacred fire
Sunny day

Okay once again and i hate to sound like a broken record, its lacking, but granted these are all good moves

Like most types, these guys did not get a good follow up in gen 2,,so lets see how they fair in gen 3

Gen 3
...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Its gen 3 Pokemon sales are starting to drop,so lets see what happens with these guys now

Torchic
numel
Torkoal
The oh so very rare and elusive fire types make a return here, and while they are few, they are strong,

Frieza: The marines...?

Relinquish....

Anyway, all of these Pokemon are good, numel is great, and while they are the few they are the Powerful

So lets have a lookey at the fire type moves of gen 3

Blast burn
Blaze kick
Eruption
Heat wave
Overheat
Will-o-wisp

Alright now we have an improvement, all of these moves are great,i just freaking love them,so have fun with them

Alright the fire types did not...really redeem themselves, but they made it clear that there were not going down the drain, not really crawling out of it,but holding there ground

Gen 4
...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The fire types are holding there ground, and now they have a good chance to try to follow up with there decent mark in gen 3,so lets see how they do now

Chimchar
Magmortar
Heatran

....this is gen 4...? i though it was gen 4,seriously,this is almost the exact same thing as gen 3,anyway these 3 are pretty good,in fact i would say that there great,so.,,make use of them

The Pokemon are few in number, but great in strength,so lets see how the moves fair'

Fire fang
Flare blitz
lava plume
Magma storm

Once again...these moves are few but they are so freaking good,i can't stop saying that, these moves are all good, and some of them are just great

Alright the fire types are starting to get there groove back,so lets see if they can keep it going in gen 5

Gen 5
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

OH fire types, sweet fire types, lets see if you will keep repeating what you have done since gen 3-4

Tepig
Pansear
Darumaka
Litwick
Heatmor
Volcarona

Well...everything i have said about gen 3 and 4..just apply it here, honestly, its just the same thing over and over and over again,so everything i have said about those gens, just apply it here

Lets see what we have in gen 5.

Blue flare
Fiery dance
Fire pledge
Flame burst
Flame charge
Fusion flare
Heat crash
incinerate
inferno
Searing shot
V-crate

Deathstroke: Holy shi-

Relinquish: FAMILY SITE...!

This vast array of moves is a freaking blessing,it is awesome, gen 5 may possibly be the best thing for fire types ever, all of these moves are effective...literally all of them,i have no major gripes with this move not one.

Gen 5 is possibly the best time for fire types, this is the best i have ever seen them. now its time for the final gen (until about 2-3 years)

Gen 6
.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Alright its a new gen and some fresh meat is here,so lets see how they do now

Fenniken
Braixen
Dephlox
Talonflame
Pyroar

...you know the drill...apply it here

Now lets look at the moves

Mystical fire

And that's it...and to be fair its a good move

Alright its basically the same thing,i don't have much to say here, its really just the same thing as before

Final thoughts
...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

You know its funny, this type is very similar to the electric type, except that...there good, and this type copy's the electric type formula exactly, which is" Do the same thing over again, but get better at it" Except...its works,i don't know why but it just works, the electric types failed but these guys actually pulled it off, they do the same thing over again, and they either stay the same,or get better, they don't falter, its just the same thing over again but there good at it,its like...The Call of duty games, its the same crap over again but people still like it, that's really just how i can describe it,this type is just the same grass,on a different terrain, but my god it works
............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

And that's the fire type,i had fun,and i hope you did as well,so if you guys have any recommendations please tell me.

If you enjoyed this Thread, give it a like, leave a comment, and tune in for another overview,or for another one of my oh so great review of Pokemon,my latest one was starly btw, link at the bottom

relinquish022 : Um sorry, but Groudon isn't a fire type. It's a ground type. Plus you have torkoal for Gen 3. Other than that, Great Review!
