Out of all the natural disasters, I find myself worrying about the tornado the most. I guess it's because of all the destruction it can cause, even though the others cause a lot of destruction too... I just worry about tornadoes.

Oh how I love to talk about one of my hobbies and specialties Meteorology.

Even though I am a weather spotter and want to go tornado chasing. I worry about tornadoes. I have been in three of them. My area despite the mountains is tornado prone and every year we usually have some that touch down within 50 miles of me. In my area we only average 5 inches of snowfall per year so do not have to worry about that. Hurricanes I live to far inland. Earthquakes we have had a few minor ones bur nothing real major.

True, I have always wanted to see a tornado up close, but I also fear of the kind of damage that it could cause.

I would say a Hurricane because they come often in the tropics and that Last Hurricane we had wrecked a lot of our country. My house survived thankfully but I might not be as lucky next time.

The UK rarely experiences any natural disasters. But I fear Tsunamis more than anything because I only live about 10 miles inland and even though we live far away from the nearest tectonic plate, it is still scary because the seas around here are very easily pushed over the defences and winds are wild.

We never get hurricanes or tornados where I am (thank goodness!), but I'm kind of worried about either an earthquake or a tsunami happening. For the poll though, I went with a tsunami because I think it'd cause a lot more damage than an earthquake. Hopefully neither of these natural disasters will happen in my lifetime, but you can't really predict when (or where) they'll happen so the most you can do is be prepared and hope it doesn't happen in your area.

Sidewinder : I'm really not that scared for any Natural Disaster since i live in the Netherlands. You forgot to add a flood by the way. So if i had to choose it would be a flood. But we got real strong dams here.

Hurricanes are more frequent in my area than anything else. Forest fire? I don't think that will happen anytime soon where I am since there is a lot of rain. Very wet!

I guess if I had to pick the one most likely to strike me, I'd have to go with a tornado.  I don't really know which weather disaster would be -scariest- for me, but it also stands a pretty good chance of being ranked pretty high.

About this time last year (or maybe two years ago... has it really been that long?  Oh yes.. thinking back, I'm fairly certain it was two years ago... wow!) ... there were some crazy tornados here. Even though it was detrimental, I have to say that it was a fascinating sight.  I lived up on a hilltop and we could see the tornado spreading out over the city and then drawing down to the ground. Creepy stuff....

I live in Atlanta. We don't have them. We have a rare tornado but that is it. We don't have much.

I live hundreds of miles away from the nearest plate boundary, and I have never witnessed a hurricane or tornado here, but I live on the coast, so I am most fearing a tsunami. I don't think one has ever been recorded, but Mother Nature can be unpredictable.

I'm really scared of tornados. Especially since Nebraska is in Tornado Alley (Where tornados frequently appear). We also had a flood, which was a little scary for me.

I would have to say a tsunami. Just because its probably one of the hardest natural disasters to survive.
