I just though and well asked myself this question upon seeing a 4,000 + word story well post on basic conversations so now I'm asking if story posts during the TDV's should count towards the earning of TDV's jerseys.

I do think they should. If you write a story that is 4000+ words, why would it not? It is a post like any other, just longer. I think there could be some rules about the quality of the stories, because that CAN be abused for word count and etc.

I think they should. In fact, some of my easiest jerseys have come from writing stories, and I do adore writing. What I DON'T like are people simply copy pasting stuff they've already written. When people get the red jersey through this, I feel as though it's cheating, and I don't like it at all. Save copying and pasting stories for times OUTSIDE of the TdV. Otherwise, I feel you're manipulating the system. It's not fair for the people that work super hard to be active and win a jersey through bringing the site more traffic....

Unfortunately, there's just no way to PROVE someone didn't pre-write something unless they admit it. And unfortunately, if they were DQ'd just for admitting it..... the solution would be simple: They'd never admit it and continue to break the 'rule' anyways (if the rule was every put in place, I mean).

It's just something we have to accept. To be fair, threads from that forum should count. I just wish people would write fresh stuff instead of 'cheating' others out of a jersey.

It's especially annoying when the person says "But I shared this just because I wanted to."

No. stop saying that. Unless you've JUST joined the site, you've had plenty of opportunities to copy paste your stories to share. It's just TOO convenient to now suddenly want to share. Wait for the TdV to end... THEN share.

Either that, or be honest and admit you just want the jersey. No biggie at all. It's not as though you're breaking any rules. LOL

(DISCLAIMER: My little rant is not designated to any one person. We've had dozens of people that pre-write stuff and admit to it. I'm talking to ALL of them. )

But you guys know I love you all anyways and hold no grudges.

Keep posting and keep writing!

Singelli : a lot of people complain about pre writing reviews, guides, walkthroughs etc. but they are fair game it's not like no one else can pre write a day in advance and wait to post it till the following day (just saying). If you were we're to completely ban pre writing then why not ban restricted fourm posts during the TDV's since not everyone can post in certain restricted forums.

Divine Aurora :  Regarding the pre-written idea, the forum area doesn't matter. It still stands that there is no way to prove someone did or did not pre-write something.  The only way is through admission, and if you dictate that pre-written stuff is not allowed, people would just stop admitting it and get away with it anyways.

I think that posts in this forum should definitely count because they are posts just like anything else, but they are just longer and more detailed. I personally don't write stories on vizzed much, but if someone took the time to write a long detailed 4,000 word story, then by all means it should count as a post towards the competition because it is fair game.

And singelli makes a good point here, if you tell people to not pre write stuff and it becomes a permanent rule, then people just won't admit to it and they will do it anyways and get points for it because there is no way to tell. But I still think that stories should count as posts towards the competition regardless of length, it is still fair.

I think that it should count because they took the time to write all of that stuff down (Hopefully they wrote it themselves...). Reviews and stories should count because they are long, tedious things to write, and whoever does them honestly should get a reward for their time and creativity.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

Mine seem to have counted. At least, I won several jerseys that way, and no admins or mods coming and saying "Halt. knave! Thou dost not deserve that!"
