Over the past few days, a lot has happened in the world of the New York Mets. First off, Matt Harvey has elected to have surgery and will miss the entire 2014 season. A lot of fans are dissapointed about this, but if it means he will be healthy, then I guess we have to support him.

When it comes to pitching, there have been talks that the Mets will look to acquire Bronson Arroyo and maybe even Phil Hughes for the 2014 season. There have even been a few rumors floating around that Johan Santana might try to make a return with the team.

When it comes to batting, the Mets have been focused mostly on Shin Soo Choo, but as of late, there have been rumors that Carlos Beltran would consider returning to the Mets if he is offered a deal.

Odd that you would make this thread right after the season ended......

As a Yankees fan, I can say that getting Phil Hughes would be a terrible decision. He is very inconsistent and gives up a lot of home runs.
